Invalid Steam key

So I won my 1st giveaway.
The key that I received is reported by Steam as Invalid Product Key. Person thad made giveaway has private Steam profile.

What am I supposed to do now?

OK, maybe I'm overcomplicating, but I'm just trying to start nice here.
This is the 1st giveaway I've won so I'd really want to explore any other option before marking it as not received.
I've thought that maybe there is a system of PM's or some way to contact him by e-mail.

The GA creator may have accidentally given you a used key. Try contacting him via steam/email about it. Mark as no received if it's not resolved by 7 days.

This happened to me twice, one of the GA creators got an unused key for me as well.

That would show up as a duplicate key, not an invalid one. Unless they messed up the copy/paste or something, that means it's not a Steam key at all.

But yeah, the advice is still the same. Contact the GA creator, and if they can't get you a key that works, mark as not received.
