With the summer sale and all, I was hoping to be able to put some money into my steam wallet funds via Paypal. Although I seem to have come across a problem. I've tried multiple times over the past 8 hours to try and chip in some funds for the sale but constantly get an error.
Looking a little something like this :

" An unexpected error has occurred. Your purchase has not been completed.
Please contact Steam Support. "

Does anyone know a way around this?

Probably server overload, tends to happen in sales

Unless you're in another country in which case you ahve to put a certain code in teh URL. You can google that though. Most likely is overload anyway...

I have tried this. I assume you mean just buying the game alone and it comes up with the same error sadly.

In that case, your bandwidth is low and you're timing out or the more likely situaton is that you're trying to buy the games at peak times. You're in no rush to buy games if they're on sale for 8 hours a time on flash sale or 48 hours by normal sales etc.
Steam is notorious for this at sales times so just be patient and keep coming back to them every hour or so.

Adding steam wallet funds will only give you the same error that you are getting with the paypal, trust me, I tried it as well.

Summer overload; also why are you asking here instead of contacting support like it says...

Because steam support takes quite a while and I wanted to see if anyone else had the issue and new a quick way around it rather than waiting on support.

Yeah, like the rest of them said. It is most likely server overload, it's the same every big sale. I actually bought two copies of a game. It said "something went wrong" so I tried again, and bought two copies since the first time it actually went through aswell.

Server overload is the cause IMO.

Have you tried adding funds another way? It may be that you somehow triggered Paypals fruad detection lockout. For a couple weeks, Paypal would not let me buy from Nuuvem because I did too many different currency conversions, too close together.
Hopefully you are not having the same problem as a friend. Something went haywire with his account and yesterday,he was not able to add funds or buy anything at all. Fear not though. Complaints to Steam about not being able to give them money, are the HIGHEST priority. Should get a response from them real soon :)
