DONT DO THE INI KEY EDIT FOR BORDERLANDS 2!

I was unaware that Borderlands had an always online DRM component included.
Unless they left in the trick and added some anti-cheat code that is tripped, there is really no way for them to "roll back" a single player game.
Now unless they decide to revoke the game keys/steam subscription entirely then... ya.

Keys are NOT only thing you can edit...

Right, "Rollback" all the items and Rares you got with the Key edit when the game is mostly based on single player..

Not saying i will do this as i want to enjoy the game to its fullest.
They cant rollback peoples items as they cannot tell which items were obtained via glitch or legitimate keys.
They can however fix the way the keys are obtained and prevent the ini hack or encrypt the ini file. (which somebody would just figure out how to edit anyway!)
They also could not prevent people using memory hacking techniques or save editing... Basically they cant fix this issue.
And who really cares about this? The game is supposed to be fun and played the way you want.
It is designed to be cooperative and not competitive... If you don't want to play with modders then simply kick them or just dont't play with them at all.

Also this got on my nerves, I pre-ordered so I can get a bonus that not everyone could get.

After all the problems they had with people editing stuff in the first game they make it easier in the second, facepalm !!.

So they fixed the key exploit, that's good. Does anyone know if they fixed the promotional item exploit as well?

There was a really awesome savegame editor for the first game. Hope it doesn't take too long for this one.

They can't do anything about it, unless they installed a secret anti-cheat software that we do not know about, then there is no way to punish us for it. :3

Btw, if they did install secret anti-cheat software, then we can sue because it says nowhere in the ToS of them installing it on us.

But still, HOW they can do that..."lock" the bug and delete my savegame?They can't remove weapons just because "they look like looted from the chest, using exploited keys"...imho, nothing wiil happen (aside of fixing the "bug")

On September 20, 2012, Gearbox Software patched Borderlands 2 to fix the Gold Key ini file edit Exploit. Editing the ini file to change the amount of keys you have will no longer grant you any additional keys. However, the patch did not remove any keys you have already added using the exploit.
On September 21, 2012, Gearbox Software announced that they will not ban or otherwise punish those who used the cheat.

Cheating is ruining gaming,if you wanna cheat do it only on single player,and only if you beat the game on normal ;/

They fixed this exploit in their patch.

Didn't know about this till now...
