You can still get your key from the won page: https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaways/won

if winner creator did send key to winner though

Well I'm assuming the creator was decent enough to do so.

Otherwise OP can just mark it as not received from the same page (after one week since win) and contact support.

I would half assume if they saw a blacklisted person they'd re roll? But yeah what was said above - basically it's dependent on that alone.

Nope. If you could join, then winner is supposed to send you win, otherwise people could blacklist winners after winning to get win to person he wants to win - there are exceptions such as SGTools giveaway and leaked puzzles,
I also heard different stories about people kicked out of groups but who joined giveaways before kick.

Did you politely thank him ? Also you marked it as received ... why would you do that if you did not already add it ?

Permalink

i am not sure about that, but thatmay not be the same giveaway, until you have mark the game as "received" or "non received" other people don't see it in the win list, no ?

Try and contact the gifter. Some gifters do this to prevent the same user from wining multiple times fom them. But you should have not ven been able to enter if you were blacklisted. Unless you did something after you entered.

How long ago did you win? Gifters have 7 days to deliver before you contact support.

An hour, give or take a few minutes.

if you did nothing against rules do a https://www.steamgifts.com/support/tickets/new
after wait of 7 days

That won't solve anything, just create more work for support. The only think OP can do is mark it as not received.

you probably didn't read the description/reply or did something to annoy the ga creator.

Well you should redeem it on your account no matter what. Take a second to read the FAQ and it will save both you and us time.

Why everyone suggests contacting support. There is absolutely nothing that support will do about it.
The support ticket line is over a year long, so why submit unnecessary tickets to overload it even more.
Just mark it as Not Received after 7 days and move on.

Yeah, I don't understand that either. There's nothing support can do, so they should just mark as not received and move on.

At the time of the giveaway ending, you hadn't activated a win despite marking as received. You therefore, got blacklisted and a new winner has been requested. I see you have now activated said win. So I'll un-blist and cancel the support ticket. That being said, making a thread an hour after it's ended asking where it is when you had un-redeemed wins is kind of shitty.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

To be fair, blacklisting the winner before the reroll is approved is also kind of shitty. If you won a giveaway and discovered that you were blacklisted before getting the game, you'd be confused too.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Blacklisting doesn't affect getting the game at all had it been sent.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah, but it's still confusing to see that you won something and you're blacklisted immediately.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It's up to everyone to blacklist whoever they want and whenever they want. Yes, the creator could have contacted the winner and asked what happened to the unactivated gift and then also helped make piece in the middle east, but they are not required to do so if they see there are rules broken.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Trust me - I am 100% for using the blacklist for whatever you want to use it for. People who break rules, annoy you, disagree with you, slept with your mother, whatever.

But this thread pops up quite often. I'm not saying "don't blacklist your winner." I'm saying "wait until things are finalized." Doing it immediately just leads to confused people and more people asking this same question.

But this thread pops up quite often

people are tired of rule breakers...
this wasn't the case but most users won't waste time investigating what happened.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

That's not particularly uncommon either. At the end of the day, I checked to see if they had broken the rules before sending, they had so I blacklisted and requested a reroll. Bit harsh? Maybe, but then again it isn't unreasonable to expect people to read the FAQ.

Permalink

I can see I'm not going to convince you of anything, so I'll drop this here. However, I feel very strongly that the thread creator was entirely justified in asking "hey, what happened?" in this case. And you're kind of being an asshole by accusing him of doing something wrong by asking on the forums when you cut off his easiest way of asking you privately and directly.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I never said he was doing anything wrong by asking on the forums, I said it was kind of shitty to ask where your game was an hour after it had ended, blacklisted or otherwise.

He activated his win and got the one from me as well as being un-blacklisted. He did however break the site rules in the first place. Have they learned from it? Yeah I think, hopefully it won't happen again and everything will be cool. This time. Most just carry on regardless.

I am not going to be made to feel guilty because I got fed up of people breaking the rules and tried to give someone else a chance of winning.

I understand that it's against the rules to mark the GA as received despite not activating the gift/key, and I understand your loyalty of following the rules of the site, but you should at least contact the winner why they haven't activated their key instead of blacklisting immediately--that just causes confusion to the end user as we've seen here.

Just like you, I check to see if the winner activated the gift, and when I noticed they haven't I contact them via comments on Steamgifts. Some responded by not knowing these rules and thanking me for reminding them, and other were due to Steam's cache not updating for me, so I couldn't see the game on their account unless I did a hard refresh (Ctrl + F5).

tl;dr: OP didn't activate previous win; giveaway creator blacklisted him and most likely asked for a reroll. I wonder if the reroll will be approved if OP activates the win now, since the previous win happened less than 7 days ago.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

He already activated it and the ga creator closed the reroll request and sent the game.

you have to wait the full 7 days before a reroll gets approved - I had a winner with 2 unactivated wins (obvious regifts) and asked for a reroll right away, but since he won them only 1-2 days earlier I was told to wait till the 7 days were up.

Also, what you should've done is contact the ga creator and let them know if they're ok with you activating later.

I can wait until Friday. It doesn't really matter at this point, if he activates it, great. If he doesn't I report, get it marked as received and he gets a ban. Not really worth it over a $1 tier game from HB like, but to each their own.
