Already had it anyway but would have been nice to gift, alas, 90% off on the page, but 50% by the time it hit my cart. Thanks for the heads up. :)

Well, I wanted to buy it, but now I won't. Their loss :P

Considering the profit per game at 50% compared to 90% I don't think they'll consider this a loss :P

It's been well documented that lower price results in more profits for games that have been out for a while. If AC were 3€ instead of 10€, he'd buy it and I'd buy it, so they'd get 6€. Now, when it costs 10€ he won't buy it, nor will I, so they'll get 0€. Move that on a larger scale and you get the picture.

Well it's hard to say, lets say 90% is 2€ profit, and 50% is 10€ profit.
This would mean that when you sell 1000 copies at 50%, you'd have to sell 5000 copies at 90%.
Also there is less ground to be covered then, they can always go 50% first and in 6 months go 75% and get another piece of the pie, then when there are no new customers anymore, go to 90% to make sure every scrub including me gets it.
But I get what you are trying to say and I guess for some games it is the case, for some not.
