I think this'll get review-bombed to hell and back the moment it gets released.
Just because there's enough people pissed about how The Culling 1 was handled, and this being seen as part of the whole debacle. (The discussion forums are already getting flooded with salty threads)

All I know that I really liked some Culling streams, the game design and idea (and melee focus) was awesome, and then suddenly one (or a few) update completely killed it. Not interested in the second either, but I genuinely hope it will fare well.

So, instead of fixing what was wrong with the last game, they just make a new one? There doesn't seem to be anything they couldn't have simply added with patches, or am I missing something vital here?
I hate to be a negative Nancy, but this looks like a cash grab.

I used to love the first one. Forgot what update it was, but they had one that really messed with the combat and weaponry. went from waiting seconds for a game to hours and the combat was so off. I don't see why they didn't just try to fix the first one before trying to pull a cash grab like this. they have to know they're just going to get review bombed

BR games have an uphill battle even when they have good word of mouth going, and this has the opposite. Drawing players from PUBG or Fortnite is a massive challenge and even good games like Darwin Project can't hold much of a player base nowadays.
I would say 1-2k players on launch and dead within 6 weeks. That's my guess.

The peak today was 249, with current players being 160.
Not sure if it will even hit 500 for it's launch day.

Ah, is this that game that was popular for like... 2 weeks? The first one, I mean.

Devs fucked up the balance with some patch that completely broke the fighting system (I heard some about it, but I don't remember completely, I think either made attacking, or defending way underpowered against the other, so the pretty tactical melee turned into a clickfest)

Who would have thought that yet another battle royale would have been a cash grab? Shocked i must say, i'm shocked!

13 players right now, the game died faster than Radical Heights.

Been 1 or 2 players the past day or so. Game is DOA.
Curious if they are going to still do patches or let it go F2P or what.

Going by these tweets from the studio:

There's not going to be a studio that can do patches etc. for very long.

Today, they announced that they'll refund everyone who purchased The Culling 2. The game is cancelled and the dev team will go back to first game, The Culling. Good news is, they'll take the game to it's first update stage and remove everything that came afterwards we all hated. The Culling will also go F2P, hopefully with only cosmetics as purchasable content.
Honestly I just want a battle royale game with competent devs that listen to the community. I've failed to find one as of yet. I'll try The Culling when they release it F2P and I'm hopeful about Fear of the Wolves.

It will be a 20$ game. Here's the Steam link.
Here's a PCGamer article about it, along with a trailer.
The game looks kinda fun, but with what happened to The Culling 1. I personally don't really trust the devs. They shoulda made it F2P to earn trust back, or at the very least, give a discount to the owners The Culling 1.
What do you all think about the sequel coming out less than a year of the "official" release of The Culling 1?
