I don't wanna be cg. But every time I see the thread title I sing in my head Beyonce's If I Were a Boy, only instead of boy I say cg O.o
Close this thread and get out of my head, icaio!

I would get a giant Space Kitteh tattoo.
and I would finally implement some form of moderation on ST. Like, a real mod team.

I would respond to the ticket I opened a few days ago to avoid being punished unfairly.

WWcgD?

Just the usual. Rework FAQ and Guidelines, suspension length and similar topics into a single post/page/docucemt, add the bundle list link to it. I still find it very backwards that there are recurring problems half of the forum can instantly answer, and yet it's nowhere to be found in official help. ( the Daedalic CV bug for example, that is one of the most frequent culprit behind CV fluctuations )
Also just checking it, guidelines still have the rule " If you have a gift or key for another region, it should not be posted at this time." that is obsolete since we can set up the region of a giveaway.

Also, on https://www.steamgifts.com/about/FAQ the sidebar is barely utilized, yet the FAQ is already overly long, and most of it is general "this is how the site works". White it would require some rethinking of the sections, I would get all the useful info of the site, and break it into a general rundown how the site operates (giveaways, points and the regeneration, forum sections) as a new text-box on the sidebar, and each topic appearing there - like how the "legal" box has 3 pages to it. Having the info in thematised system with a table of contents makes it easier to link it, or find the needed section. If nothing more, it would look neat :D

+a "Light Support" thing, where more experienced members can give quick help answers. so that you'll have a new (renamed) Bugs / Suggestions / LIght Support category on the sidebar.

wherever i see faq i do click, since ages. so very ready to contribute. tho, i think he, cg, shouldn't write a new FAQ. i think we, the users, should write that.

and bump

aaand, just found a gift!

I would also help if it would ever come to that, it's just the decision that is missing. It's not horrible as it is (levels and CV added to FAQ at a point that is fairly new to me) but it could be so much neater and likely better, too. (Also, this is the biggest "issue" I can bring up right now, so it shows that the site is pretty okay)

  1. I'd have better rules in place so there's a clear defined ruleset of what is good and what is bad.
  2. I'd change the forums, the current way it works is too cluttered and due an overhaul, have mods for each section with great power to moderate the forums where most issues happen.
  3. Automate re-rolls through bots.
  4. Cleanup of accounts that are dormant or perma-banned. Then really target bot accounts.
  5. Use patreon better, the rewards aren't tangible enough to use. Better profile customisation, maybe a monthly Q&A(not around so much any more so these could have happened already).
  6. No limit to blacklists/whitelists, auto removal of permabanned users from blacklists. Separate forum blacklist option which hides all comments from that user.
  7. Option to spend points on stuff other than giveaways, badges or fun stuff just for the lols or those of us who don't enter giveaways any more.
  8. More SG endorsed events, some amazing eventers here that could put on a hell of an "official" show, same with contributers, have an events team to put on community wide events that do not require being part of a group or club.
  9. Endless levels to keep the level 10's entertained but cap giveaway level locks to "10+" to stop outrageous levels being required to enter stuff.
  10. The implementation of 90% of the mods that improve the site, more stats, options and alike.

Mostly CG does a good job, in my opinion when he wasn't asking for any money his hands off approach was fine. When patreon got involved I'd have liked to have seen him make a bigger attempt to run the place and make it more of his job than it is. Overall I'd like to see him involved much more than he is publically than just behind the scenes.
