You know why they are doing this, cause their games have been in several bundles, and i think even the first Dead Island was free on two occasions.
Most of these 'remasters', are just hd texture packs with adjusted output settings (like resolution, no fps lock, etc....; aka: ini edits).
This is why you lock your game to 30 fps and few resolution options; so later you can released an unlocked fps version with more resolution options and an hd texture pack.

Yeah! In this case only more high textures and better lightning. Not enough for me to buy it AGAIN but it's worth it for whom doesn't have it. They release this because they want to grab some money from the new consoles and i think... they will eventually release Dead Island 2.

They dropped Epidemic since it was not making enough to keep the servers going. They where spending more money to keep it going than making. It simply was not in their best interest to keep it going. Yes I know some people liked it, but most people did not.

Is this just a graphical upgrade? Did they fix all the bugs and glitches the original game had?

The only thing I do not already have in this bundle is the retro revenge game. ( I have all the DLC for both the original and DLC ) What bothers me though is that it claims to be enhanced gfx for the original and Riptide but everything they have shown looks exactly the same. So that seems like false advertisement so far. So it kind of seems like I would be paying 6 USD ( With the discount ) just for the name change of it. ( IE Dead Island Definitive Edition! )
The stuff they have shown so far in the "enhanced" version look exactly the same as the previous edition. This is what bothers me the most since they claim the gfx has been enhanced on the store page. However they do not show that at all. ( also the English in it is.. a little odd. )

Another thing to note.. You can make the game look better than they have shown with mods.

I can see the difference though i would not say it is a big one but i can notice,also about the mods i am sure at some point this version will have mods that will make this look even better.A nice feature for the DE would have been some sort of mod support or at the least custom weapon mods option.Is it worth the money if you do not own the older games i would say yeah when on sale ,thought for 3.00 a game if your a fan of the series i think that is not a bad price.Plenty of worse ways to spend your money Steam.One last thing i think they also did this to get people to buy it in hopes they like it enough to maybe purchase Dead Island 2.

$3 graphic upgrade for each game(I have the originals) is not bad, but developers did provide a free graphic upgrade for their own games in the past. Then again, I barely played Dead Island original and have not touched Riptide yet, so I'm not concerned with starting over. I'm looking at the cost for each game, not in the bundle.
Edit: I gave in and bought the Def. Edition for Dead Island and for Riptide.
