The last part after the slash doesn't matter.
Example:
http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/wmzpw/faerie-solitaire
works the same with
http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/wmzpw/1
or
http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/wmzpw/faerie-solitaireeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
So basically your, and every other link related puzzle is all about the five letter identifier code, not the rest of the url.

Hmm, I thought you were referring to the actual Steamgifts link by saying too long, oh well.

Actually, the phenomenon he is describing is the total opposite of SEO. He just created three links that all go to the exact same page. If a search engine picks up all three links, it will give the page a lower ranking because of it. Proper SEO would be to redirect the second two links he posted to the first one, so that the first one then is what shows up in the box at the top of your browser. This way, the search engine gives the ranking for all three links to the first one, and gives no penalty.

None of the md5 sites will crack the hash. I think you need to make your own rainbow table to crack it. Am I right?
Edit: Wait what? The md5's are already crackable and the 2nd is even given away. But what is it for.
Edit2: I found it but TR how further? What is + my link?

Now, the 'link's too long part', the worst part of the puzzle apparently.

If you google his username, you'll find his twitter account, which will tell you what URL shortner he uses. (http://bit.ly)
I gave up after this point, but it looks like there are at least two more steps.

Now since those are crackable for those who couldn't do it before, I took down the hint.
