Maybe he was drunk when he was giving the keys.
But really, as far as I'm concerned devs make deals with bundle sites a month or so before the bundle goes live so the dev should have known about the bundle unless something changed and now you make deals with bundles in less than a day.
Also way to start your game, MP-only and revoked keys.

I did, but this tone usually warrants an "asshole | avoid" tag from me, so our interaction wasn't like that.
Ah, well, it's not that interesting anyway. I feel a little sorry for the dev though, he obviously doesn't know how to handle the promotion/business side of game development, probably this is why the partnership with LazyGuys.
(Although if the promotion was pushed way ahead of intended time, that wouldn't surprise me with the Original group. Their leadership are greedy impatient bastards, and that can be an almost objective statement.)

You can only tag people who were on your friend list or in the same group chat. So no, you don't have a tag. If you had, it would most likely be "from SG". I use very simple ones to know who to keep and remove at yearly list purges. Or who to avoid because of something, if I run into that.

Nah, I use tags to know where I know people from or if I had some interactions with and want to warn my future self. I have people literally marked as "don't remove" so I know to not de-friend them, even though I generally have no idea who they are and why are they on my friend list.

Don't know if it's because english is a foreign one to me, but your post looks more confusing to me that the whole story about the keys is, especially when you try to throw Deduction and OGG into the pot together and have no mention about the developer.

Regardless of what actually happened and who was on the shadier side the only person who could have revoked the keys was the dev. They've shit on themselves and only have themselves to blame. People have speculated that Lazy Guys were behind the revokation to try and salvage potential bundle sales, but as a multiplayer only title with no other features from a first time dev/publisher nobody would have been buying a bundle for this anyway and even before this mess it would likely have been dead within a month anyway.

Exactly. Also, yesterday this Deduction subject had harsher words for the game, saying it's worthless because it has no cards, no achievements and no single-player mode. Apart from the elegance of biting the hand that feeds you, is this what defines the value of a game? Cards and achievements? And it's clearly stated the game is MP-only. Now the game is probably garbage, but on its on gaming merits.

To be fair, Rocket League is indie in the way Double Fine is indie, this game seems to be "my first project in CS class" indie. :)
Minecraft doesn't count in any discussion. :)

You're right, generally speaking. My point is that the presence of lack of a single player mode does not define the quality of a a game (and I am definitely an SP person).

Cards, achievements and various other odds and ends don't define a game at all but if you're choosing what to buy between two unknown games the one offering extra features will almost always win out.

Fair enough. To me, such things will never be a factor in making a decision: the most fun-looking game will always win.

Ofc it's not true, why would they make someone who activate a key a victim at all?
It's not your fault that the source might be shady, I could literally destroy someones Steam acc then by getting my hands on keys bought with stolen cc and ask them to activate...
"What happens to my account when a gift is revoked?
Your account will not be restricted; however, the gift you received will be removed. If you would like to play the game again in the future, you will need to purchase it from the Steam Store or redeem another gift copy of the title."

Waiting longer to get your cards is more of a nuisance then destroying someone's account.

Apparently it might also happen when you refund.

But people are also talking about "flagging" so it would maybe affect in more ways, you don't know ;)
It happens when you do a refund yes, that is true.
It was my third strike regarding revokes, so I pretty much know from my own experience rather than reading reddit.

+1 I got a few revoked keys in the past too, mostly beta keys for testing. My drop rate is still 30 min. for the first card and the rest is set by the devs.

I have been wondering that same thing. Most games were taking around 90 minutes to drop all cards, now I'm seeing 3.5 hours. That's exactly 2 hours difference. Now not every game takes 1.5 hours, so I have been wondering if it's actually a restriction or just games taking longer that happened to come up right after the key was revoked.

I'll just copy my comment I posted on Reddit.
It will get back to normal in like half a year. I also could get drops before 2 hours a year ago. But one of my game got revoked (the same story, they gave it away for free and revoked it because of the payment issues). I contacted Steam Support and they said it's nothing and I shouldn't worry about it because it infuences nothing and it won't get me banned from anything (it seems they lied and they didn't want to say about cards drops). Few months ago my cards started dropping before 2 hours.

reading this, it sounds like Deduction was trying to take advantage of the developer, and when the developer realized that it was a shitty deal s/he tried to halt it.
Then Deduction became a whiney pissy little bitch about it, after which I'm sure the dev decided to call the whole thing off.
These crappy "promoters" who just give away a gazillion keys on gleam are just sycophants. It sucks that "innocent" people got collateral damage, but seriously, complaining about losing a game you got for free and probably would never have bothered playing, who gives a fuck?

It seems the dev has breached contract with the bundle site by making the giveaway, so he pulled the plug on the giveaway when it was already launched.
I think the dev is lying.
Quote from reddit:
Edit; This apparently is what LazyGuyBundle is claiming(from a email response);
You might have gotten your key through unauthorised competition giveaway (this has nothing to do with our Bundle) that was a breach of our Agreement with the dev and he didn't give an approval for that giveaway so it was taken down.

seems like deduction got a community ban from valve.

Just got a new key by contacting the dev. Took me quite some time, but in the end it worked. Might be worth a try.

This Giveaway gave away keys for a game titled "Drunk Wizards". However, the keys were revoked, giving everyone who had received a key this menacing message
Deduction, the owner of the gleam account which ran the promotion, gave his side of the story here which explains how OGG exploited him.
According to Deduction, they apologized and promised to never do any sketchy stuff again.
