Normally "resource management" is a negative for me. But this looks quite lovely and gives the impression (coinciding with your explanation) that there won't be too much grinding. You scored the upset win, I added this to my wishlist!

Me too, actually. Particularly in a post-Factorio world where "resource management" usually means "automation", which is a total turn-off for me.
I try to design games where a session lasts between 15-30 minutes, but where every session builds on the previous ones. I don't have time to waste on grinding -- get out of my way and let me play! -- so I don't lean on grinds to pad out my games.

Hey, SteamGifts folks!
I wanted to let you know about Isles & Tiles -- a turn-based deckbuilder / colony builder I'm working on, due to come out on Steam this summer. I like to describe it as Dorfromantik plus Terraformers; my fav comment from folks who played early builds called it a "digital board game, but actually fun."
Do you like building optimized decks in Magic (but hate microtransactions)? Do you like chill tile placement games like Dorfromantik (but wish they gave you...more to do)? Do you love resource management games (but wish they didn't have a bajillion hours of grind)?
Me too. I made Isles & Tiles for myself, but I'm hoping at least a few of y'all enjoy it as much as I do. Take a look at the Steam page if that sounds like your kind of thing: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3165460/Isles__Tiles/ . If it really sounds like your thing then sign up on the email list at https://birdworks.io/games/islesandtiles/ and I'll let you in on the beta when it launches in a month or so.
Not convinced? It's also got an awesome original sound track, which you can hear a taste of on the first trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IclJ7qOLGDg.
I'd love to hear any feedback from y'all here, and watch this space -- I'll drop some early-access keys here when the beta's ready!
