The GTX 680 is on par with the 7970 (And considering the horrible drivers AMD provides, Im guessing better)
Check your control panel for the card, There might be an adaptive brightness or something turned on? IDK, Last time I owned an ATI card was years ago...
Honey! :D

According to this chart, the nVidia equivalent to your card would be GTX 590 / GTX 680.
Never experienced the brightness isssue you're talking about so have no idea... (and since I'm at work, no time to google it)

ahm according to this list it's the GTX 670 and in most tests the GTX 670 is even better ;)

Nah, the "GHz Edition" is exactly the same card only clocked slightly higher. There's no reason why he can't clock his card to the same speed or more. Almost certainly more, in fact. The 680 is more expensive too.

Yeah, you're right. I looked too quickly. (That's what I get for trying to research stuff while working.)
But Fandango is right, he could still overclock as the Ghz edition is simply a factory overclocked card.

1.What Nvidia card would be an equivalent to my radeon?
2.How do i keep brightness setting from changing every time i launch a game?
