Hello, everyone!

We're still going strong :)

Here we are again with another issue! Things have been going well, and the reviews and designs are as wonderful as ever. Life is hitting a fair bit of us pretty hard but we are making it through, and we hope you all like this issue of SGM! We've put a lot of love into it!

You can click here for the "Magazine Experience." The recommended method to discover and flip through the magazine's pages! For easier navigation, you can use the "CTRL button + scroll wheel" combo to easily zoom in and out on the pages. You can also hold the left-click button to drag around the page. It makes reading easier if the base zoom isn’t enough for you!

PDF version can be found here!

Please consider voting for the review that you've enjoyed the most! The votes will be used to choose a “review of the month” and for our “review of the year” ranking. Feel free to comment below on the current issue if you liked or disliked it. We're looking forward to your feedback!

Thanks for reading!

Huge thanks to sodaraptor for agreeing to the interview - everyone should buy and play Hypnagogia, it's such a great game.

Congrats to everyone involved! Always fun to see the magazine going strong :)

I have the game on my wishlist ever since you told me you were going to write a review about it in the SGM, I suppose I'll have to buy it now and try it for myself, sounds like a lot of fun 🥰

Wow amazing, the layout work is impressive! I dont have the time to read right away, i will vote later.
But presentation alone i have one suggestion- the reviews with bigger first page art (like abzu and soundmind) look amazing and on first look as if more relevant then the others- i feel every review deserved those; Unlike paper mags ink/cost isnt an issue

I also loved the gifs and audio in Hypnagogia- thats the kind of thing only a digital magazine can bring and its awesome

Again just comenting on production because of time, outstanding work!

Thank you! Those ones were actually made by myself, and each designer makes their designs catered to what they personally like for the particular game, so there isn't really standardization on that front. Also, some games are quite hard to do that for, unfortunately :(

Oh i didnt knew that- thats cool too, that degree of freedom is also something we wouldnt get in old media outlets
I know some games have barely any extra art but i will throw an idea if you meet those cases: in-game screenshots as source. Some have nice start menus, others something flashy with the characters on inventory or some cutscene, but even simpler games with none of that generally have some gameplay moment that is a good representative

Heck id say a screenshot of the tiny hero/vampire surrounded by an horde of enemies bleeding from the page would be more representative of 'vampire survivors' then its actual cover art- wich is nice but its just a generic evil looking vampire grimming.
Anyway, just my 2 cents

Hats off to you then, i loved your choices, great work!

Love the issue this month(?). I already own a couple of games described in the magazine, played one or two, and also added a few to my wishlist! Have been very much interested in Slime Rancher but with my backlog of games, I'm sure I'll get to it eventually...

Excellent work!
Yeah, that Quake 2 review.. has he played multiplayer as well? It really shined back then ;-)
Hacknet on review as well, nicely done!

What I really liked was the section "screenshot of the month".

Keep em coming, good job!

Uhhhhn the reviewer herself here. I played it a little bit. It was fun but I found it kinda unremarkable. Like, maybe it's because I'm too young and don't have enough of a frame about how it was on it's time to appreciate it. xd

Cheers mate, deathmatch back then was quite different from today's variety of shooters.
A ping of 250 was quite acceptable - and playable as well :D
Team Deathmatch on LAN parties where you had to haul all your stuff... aaah. Memories xD
