According to the rules, participants in a giveaway have to be given a week time to react.
Who doesn't hate chasing after people to hit the "received" button, but rules are rules, right?

However I noticed someone adding a passus in every of his giveaways, saying that he will blacklist anyone who takes longer than 2 or 3 days to react.
Generally, I guess it's fine to add people to blacklist for any reason. But threatening in advance to react faster than what the rules allow? Seems a bit over the top.
I've asked support whether this is within the rules, and the answer was "ticket closed".

So I wonder what do you think about it?

Totally acceptable
Not ok, but also not that big of a deal and should be turned a blind eye on
Completely unacceptable

I suggest getting over it already.
People will blacklist you for having an avatar they don't like, and they won't warn you about that.

Also, people will blacklist you for starting this thread, so... was it worth it?

Is that the reason why you changed your avatar? :(

I have had the same avatar since Steam enabled avatars.

Actually, I never even uploaded this one as an avatar. It was my CS: Source spray tag and Steam just made it my default image when profile pics went live.

Something about the poor quality of the image just speaks to me. I'll never change!

As far as I know, you can blacklist for any reason you like. As long as they deliver the key and they are staying within SG rules, its fine. Personally, I would never do this as I don't think its a valid reason for a blacklist.

Everyone is allowed to blacklist anyone else, for whatever reason.

That's the entire point.

simply "it's fine to add people to blacklist for any reason"

to this case: sometimes it's something simple like

  • game is on sale right now and if sale ends the game is more expensive
    or
  • key will be unavailable at this point
also there are users that don't visit this page every day

I for myself hate it, if I see someone is online on this page and on steam and don't activate the game for some days.

While I do think that it's a jerk move indeed, I don't see any reasons to introduce and enforce some rules about acceptable/unacceptable reasons for blacklisting. While we are at it, you could just go and blacklist authors of said threats :)
