However, they held a second referendum to pull us into the Eurozone (single currency). The people voted to stick with the pound. They switched the questions around so that Voting Yes was no and voting No was yes to confuse the old people and it passed the second time. :P
A no-deal Brexit is going to be devastating for Ireland as well, so here's hoping the muppets in London sort their shit. lol.

Well ,ok ,maybe not similar but as you say ,they pulled some kind of trick on the Irish to get the yes answer they wanted.
I just wish we never joined in the first place.
Maybe the economic union was ok ,which was what we originally joined ,but the rest of it gradually became a big turn-off for a lot of the people in the UK..
I think the unregulated mass immigration was the thing that finally pushed many of us over the edge.
The Eu's polices meant almost anyone from anywhere could use the EU as a open gateway to go wherever they wanted.

Hah! The EU accused Ireland of breaching EU laws over the fact that babies born on Irish soil can be deported along with their entire family if at least one parent isn't Irish and they have no reason to be here. We had that problem of people flocking here and using their babies to stay and live on the dole. Working and contributing immigrants are welcome. I don't see why any country should take people in who are not contributing unless they are fleeing from war and persecution and need somewhere safe for a while.
I can see why Brexit happened, even if I think it's a big fat horrible mess.

They have nothing to gain by letting us use coins for something worthwhile.
