When will they select the 30 people from Blue team ? They just sent me 2 summer adventure cards when the 5th day ended xD Does that mean I'm not one of those 30 lucky guys ?

I got cards when the purple team one so I think that it's like a prize only if you contribute points.

Seems like Valve has noticed this reddit agreement and made the most reasonable response. Maybe now we'll see a real competition for the remaining days

I hope this will help to increase the price of the cards if more than 1 team is trying to reach the top of the leaderboard :)

Valve is making so much money from card sales this needed to happen.

Yeah, I just realized earlier that Valve is "double dipping" with the event card transaction feeds. Normally, there's 5% for Valve and 10% for the publisher. But in this case Valve gets both fees.

Well i don't like valve move personally... For these days the community was all togheter helping each other...i hope im wrong and all keep like the accorded previously...it would be a shame that people get greedy and broke the agreedment just for a chance(or 2) of win a game..

This is a contest, I think the reddit idea was stupid.
Any other contest nobody is going to help thier opponent beat them, defeats the point of having a contest.

Except now there are 60 persons getting free games each day instead of 30, so it's a little bit good for us. :P

the agreement was for the 1st place, and I see no reason not to keep this one.

Now...the competition will be between 2nd and 3rd only.

Well, even if everyone did try to cooperate, they've made it nearly impossible. First, I'm not sure if there is a way to split the remaining days fairly now that there's 3 tiers. Second, even if there is, or the plan is to keep the agreement regarding the first place, but let the 2nd and 3rd spots open to competition, it'll be nearly impossible to achieve the needed coordination for it.

The reason the plan worked so well was because of the natural dynamics of the system. Once any team had a clear lead, everyone in that team would want to get at least 1 point, whereas mostly everyone else in the other teams would just give up.

With a large crowd of redditors and specially a good amount of big spenders it's relatively easy to get that lead at the start, or whenever the teams are closely matched. Then just let the rest of the participants that aren't "in" follow their natural tendency.

Edit: Erm, correction. Yes, it's possible to distribute all three places equally. Still, the rest of the coordination problems remain.

Lol. Figures. Need a better carrot when the customers decide to cooperate.

Yes, how dare they give more games to us? (And screw up the system we put in place to screw them)

While it is freaking genius by Valve, you can't miss the fact that Valve chose to do it after every team won once while I am sure Valve could have done it a lot sooner.
