I mean, wired will always have the upper hand. But it's not an absolute necessity. Still, unless you really make use of the wirelessnes (is that a word? Let's pretend it's a word), then just go for a wired. You'll probably be able to get something better for less. What's your budget?
Comment has been collapsed.
Around $100-150, I suppose. I don't really need a high-end one yet.
Sometimes I game on my laptop on the go, so having a wireless one definitely helps for me.
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh, at that price range you'll be able to get pretty much any mouse.
Maybe check the logitech G900? Heard good things, but I'm not really all that informed about wireless stuff, so I can't give you any specifics about it.

Here in Australia, G900 normally costs around $250. Heard good things about it as well, but I'd be better looking for cheaper ones.
Thanks for your suggestion though.

Oh, it is definitely true. As time and tech advances though you do get diminishing returns from wired over wireless, but wired will always have better performance and build for a lower price. Of course the differences between them will be hard to tell in some time but they'll still be there.

Using Wireless Mouse for more than a year and i can not really see a big difference between a wired one.
Mouse Cursors/ingame stuff moves at the same time as i move it and that is enough.
Only because some people think it would make a difference if the mouse detects and delivers the data 0.01ms earlier than some other does not mean that it would have an visible impact...

In my experience, wired mice generally does have a better build than wireless ones (Especially with the mouse wheel). But my current mouse's battery life performance is a beast. It can endure 6 months being powered with 2 AA batteries before getting its batteries replaced.
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh...that can get better.
Logitech M705 has a batterylifetime of 2-3 Years.
Bought that mouse last year as i was annoyed of the wires and wireless gamingmices are to expensive (why the hell would i buy 20-40 more as for some outside the gamingsection) and for some reason have a short battery span...

My brother bought me a Zelotes T-90 and its working perfect and it only costs ~$20 ;)

For $20, it looks quite nice actually. Are those 4 buttons on the side of the mouse remappable buttons?
Comment has been collapsed.
1 button is double click. and 1 changes the light of the mouse.
but the other 2 buttons are remappable :) and i never needed more than those 2 :) i mostly use 1 of them to knife enemies in shooters and the other one is used for push to talk :)

I use a wireless logitech g602 for gaming on tf2 and it's pretty good for it.

Currently using an XM300 that I got for free thanks to some promotion. It has worked quite well so far. The mouse your thinking of getting looks good. Just keep in mind that RGB will use battery life faster :P
Comment has been collapsed.
Regardless of free or not, a gaming mouse is a gaming mouse :P. In all seriousness though, GIGABYTE is a good budget brand.
Yeah, whether it be keyboards or mice, RGB is always the bane of battery life.

Will do, thanks!
Speaking of which, do you have any personal favorites?
Comment has been collapsed.
Do you mean favorite mouse or place to look for a mouse?
At the first link, you can ask questions and they'll also recommend mice based on budget, hand size, grip type and stuff. Also, they often recommend source two ^^. I'd check RocketJumpNinja's videos if for example you have two mice that you can't decide between.
The mouse I use (Rival 100) is a big chunk below your budget, so I can't really recommend any mouse for you. Good luck!

Your favorite mouse I mean, should've made that clearer lol.
The budget I listed before was just the maximum budget I am willing to pay for a mouse. A good mouse that's cheap would be a welcome suggestion for me. I might consider SteelSeries as well, but as my friends around me rarely use that brand, I have no idea on their good ones. Thanks for recommending the Rival 100.

Alright, great to know that the G400s have a good quality. Thanks for your input!

I use & recommend the Razor Naga Epic Chroma. It has both wired & wireless mode, comes with a dock (though i hardly go out so have always used it in wired mode) & has 12 side buttons (that i can't live without now), whether it's gaming or everyday functions you can map it however you want ;)
Although it's pricey i like how if i have problems with any razor product during the warranty period they tend to just replace it with a new product instead of trying to repair the old unit which is why i like to stick with them for keyboards & mice
Comment has been collapsed.
The mouse itself; while quite nice especially for MMO gaming and controlling music playbacks, is way above my budget lol. Once in a while, I kept hearing Razer products failure. Does it often happen to you as well?
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm really surprised by how many hate there is since having had alot of razor products i hardly ever have a problem with them (i've handed down a 5 year old deathadder to a young cousin and it's still going strong) The few problems i had were minor (almost like i'm nit picking) but seeing as the price i'm paying i expect high customer service which i got so i'm happy to stay with them.
For example 1 problem i had was with the blackwidow chroma keyboard where the w key wouldn't register once in a blue moon and as it's a gaming keyboard that's unacceptable so we bought it back to the store and they agreed so gave us a new one ;)
Honestly all my razor products are stil working well (so well that i hand them down to family & friends) and the few that don't are due to my kids rough treatment rather than any fault of razor's so IMHO you get what you pay for

If you are interested in multibutton mouse you can check cheaper (34$ and free international shipping if you get it from ebay, if you don't care waiting 7-13 days until your mouse arrive) but still good quality and reliable - Redragon m901. All led colors, you can remap every button, 5 profiles, macros, good feedback, weight Tuning Cartridge, etc.

I use a Gamdias Zeus for almost 2 years already, before I had A Prestigio gaming mouse for 7 years, I was happy with pervious one, and more than happy with current one (was around 140 dollars if I remember well).

I can't recommend the R.A.T. 5 enough, It's the best mouse I've ever used, it's also pretty cheap and comes with removable weights and is resizable so you can get the balance perfect.

Logitech G502 and Steelseries Rival 700 are the best mice on price/performance ratio. If you have more money G900 is THE best mouse ever created.
Just stay away from Razer crap, bad quality, bad materials, bad everything. Overpriced crap.

To be honest, those two brands are my preferred 'go to' option for any mouse.
For those two mice you've recommended, do they require any additional drivers to be used?
Comment has been collapsed.
Drivers as in software ? They both have amazing software but it's optional, not mandatory. G502 is plug&play so you don't need anything else.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yes, drivers as in mouse software. Several mouse require the usage of such software, making plug and play ones better if you ever need to use your mouse on a different device.

The OLED and the Tactile Alert thing caught my interest to be honest. So do these features exclusively used for MOBA and FPS only or other games as well?
Comment has been collapsed.
I see, a niche feature that won't likely be updated any time soon, I guess. Thanks for the information.

I use a Razar Taipan and I can recommend this one from my heart . Feels great in the hand and the functions are all there ! + Pulse green light on the Razer logo .. Looks great !

I'm pretty sure the cost of even the cheapest plastic would put the manufacturing of that at over 1$. So what's the deal with it.
Comment has been collapsed.
The plastic is a couple of cents. In the West, the components would cost $2-$4, in China they would be cheaper than that. Gaming mice only have slight changes from regular ones and are usually highly overpriced. One thing about this one, is that shipping will take a long time.
Comment has been collapsed.
But plastic for the mouse body, plus the wiring, electronics, 1337 lighting, cord will cost more than $1. I'm not even factoring in shipping costs because they do that in bulk and the chinese goverment helps paying that to stimulate exports (and that's why it must take a long time for that to arrive).
Now even with the excuse that gaming mice overpriced (which they are, especially brands like razer because of all the flair that goes into them), there's no way in hell they can produce and sell a mouse for 1$. Even if it's one of those pieces of crap that breaks if you look at it wrong, it would still cost them more than 1$ to produce.
Comment has been collapsed.
To be honest, the price really intrigues me. Even among other cheap-priced products from China, I can't imagine how they are able to balance the manufacturing cost + shipping cost. How long have you got that mouse for?
Comment has been collapsed.
I ordered the same mouse on 21 of october. The delivery date is today! Can't wait to use it! :D

I'm currently using the Ozone Argon gaming mouse http://www.ozonegaming.com/product/argon
I really like it and I haven't had any issues with it so far :)

I've been using Rapoo 7100p Wireless Optical Mouse for more than 2 years now. It's not a gaming mouse, but a very good mouse regardless. Not too long ago, the mouse wheel started to not work properly anymore and the right-click button wore out. I'm currently setting my eyes on Logitech G403 Prodigy Wireless to be bought by the end of the year, as its USB charging adapter also functions as a mouse cable. But I'm still open to any other suggestions.
I rarely play comp FPS games or MOBA. So is wired over wireless still a necessity or just a matter of choice?
My current mouse weighs about 4 ounces (approx. 110 g). I don't really like 'near weightless' mice, so anything which has a similar weight should be okay for me.
Also, care for some trip on a train? (psst) Don't tell them that this thread was an excuse as a means to give back to the community. :p
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
EDIT: Train added
EDIT 2: My maximum budget is $100-150, but anything below it is fine.
