Yes, but it's slowly starting to lose appeal. I nearly stopped watching it in season 2.

According to the ratings .. You would be the only one to stop watching it .. its getting crazy numbers

Actually, most people I know gave up in season 2 because it bored them to tears. I managed to sit through and then it got better near the end of season 2 when they added more action, after mid-season break. I suppose numbers crashed so they decided to fix it by speeding things up. There's also much more going on in season 3, they're obviously learning from their mistakes. Still, it's been 3 seasons and it's already washed down.

season 2 finale - 8.99 mil
season 3 finale - 12.40 mil

If we are talking about most people we know .. I for one and most people I know are NOT counted in that number as I downloaded the episode (as with everything I do, no cable)

I don't know enough people to have an impact on ratings. :)) And I doubt they watch it where it counts anyway.

I guess you could explain those numbers with people hearing about season 3 being better and attracting them back.

I kind of feel the same way. I thought S1 and S2 were very good and S3 was kind of boring. I skipped about 3 episodes of S3 but did catch the finale. I'll admit it kind of hooked me back in so I'll give the show another season and see how it goes.

+++++++++++SEASON 3 FINALE SPOILER DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET+++++++++++++

anyone else sad to see Andrea go? She was one of my favorite characters.

Season 1 = good

Season 2 = completely utter shit

Season 3 = epic

But it needs more zombie-survival, less shit drama.

No... I was happy to see her go... She screwed up pretty bad by not killing the governor when she had all those chances...

I still like it. But it annoys me the fact that they started to concentrate more on the social relationships instead on survival against zombies.

Survival against zombies is easy if its not your turn to die yet. But if the writers have no more use for your character, well then, that's when survival becomes hard. The survival aspect of the show loses its meaning when they manufacture it to the degree they did this season.

The only thing I hate about the show is because it tries to kill the characters to quickly if you watched season 3

SPOILER ALERT! READ BETWEEN THE NUMBERS TO GET THE MESSAGE! (Up to episode 6)

I absolutely love the show! For me, what makes it so great is how the show is able to produce such a powerful, gripping and well-scripted story that really engages the viewer, even though it is set in a post-apocalyptic zombie world. From the music to acting to even the script, there has never a zombie show like it ever before! Like in the first season, when the main character finds his family when he thought they died, that exact moment when the father and son eyes meet and they embrace. I'm not ashamed to say I was balling like a baby in that scene. :_ )

When you say there's never been a zombie show like it before, which shows are you comparing it to? There really haven't been many that I know of.

Just zombie shows and movies in general...What I mean is that the average zombie flick usually focuses on the gore and zombie aspects, a little too much at times. But The Walking Dead is not only good at that; it also has this fantastic storyline, generally great acting and tons of emotionally moving scenes, which I think has never been done before so well, or at all, in most shows of it's kind.

Really liked season 1.
Season 2 quickly became boring: they found a nice place, they settled and... started arguing for silly reasons (silly compared to the global situation).
Season 3 started well because they finally moved and something new happened, then... again like season 2. Instead of trying to organize, survive and maybe even try to understand what happened, they just fight and kill each other, which may be in human nature, but makes for a boring and predictable show.
I will not be watching season 4.

I tried watching Falling Skies: despite the slow start I decided to give it a chance because I liked the general setting and, while progressing through season 1 and 2, the situation kept evolving and things kept happening. Wow, a series with an actual plot (so far). :)

I couldve written this same post. Only difference is I'll be watching season 4 giving the writers the benefit of the doubt they can clean up the current mess. If its still a turd after 3 or so episodes, that may be when I quit on it.
As for Falling Skies, agree it is a much superior show to this point.

I stopped watching somewhere in season 2. For some reason instead of feeling like I wanted to see what happened next, I just felt like I was being strung along. The individual stories and characters were good, but overall the show lost its appeal.

Show is getting progressively worse. They need less filler in season 4 honestly. Thankfully a few awful characters are dead now.

yeah, it's a great show with really good characters and great cast and i love it even though the ending of the third season was a bit weird :)

but here's a deleted scene from the final episode of the third season that makes up for it a little SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Here!

It's meh. I loved the first episode, then the rest of the first season was kinda alright. Second season was just overall crap and it dragged a lot. This third season is actually pretty good. Rick finally got some character development, and so did some others. The Governor was pretty badass, the new characters are interesting... It's just that the season finale was a huge freaking lackluster.

As far as series and AMC goes, I'll stick with Breaking Bad, but watching the Walking Dead aside from that is not hurting.

As a matter of fact I recently started watching it, finished Season 1 in a single go. It was quite interesting but I've heard it gets somewhat boring in Season 2, which I intend to watch soon.

Mine is the last, that was quite epic in my opinion. I like the whole "I'm inside a bunker during the zombie apocalypse". I think that's in some Resident Evil movie too if I remember correctly... haven't seen those movies in a while.

I'm usually bad at picking favourites, I often like things equally or simply can't decide which one was better. I like them all, honestly, the one in the bunker was slightly boring in my opinion.

I liked the first one quite a lot, I find it interesting to watch how people slowly find out what's going on. Fourth one was good too, action packed by both zombies and the other group of survivors.

People who say season 2 is boring are mouth breathers who want to see MOAR VIOLENCE HNNNGGGH.

It's not an action series about killing zombies. It's a drama about surviving a zombie apocalypse.

I can say that it is sometimes extremely boring to see those people talk very slowly about stuff like "This guy just died, but we have to work it out, get over it bla bla bla" or something like that. When those 3min discussions happen I simply just go on the forum until I hear that the talking is over. Some drama is good in this show, some is not.

Yes, I like it. The first half of the third season was best so far, the other half wasn't as good as the first half. But it's still good. Not my favorite show though.

I don't really like that "zombies out of nowhere" direction it's taking... also, in a post-zombie-apocalyptic world i'd expect people to be way more wary about corpses with intact heads, something everyone keeps ignoring (with consequences)... it may work on unaware people in the first episodes, but when you keep hanging around corpses after 3 seasons, it feels kind of fake...

It has nothing to do with comics which are better written - less nonsense (season 1 finale was SO bad), more survival. Less crappy child issue, more blood and killing, better character development (meet the Governor)... So yeah, I wouldn't waste my time on watching the show.

Not really. I stopped watching four or five episodes into this last season.

The show is very much about the characters, and I dislike most of them.
I didn't find them likeable before I read the comic, and after I did it just made them worse.
