Abit late here, since its been news awhile ago... Cheating in competitve scenes, whether esports or real life sports, is not a surprise at all just look at the NFL and NBA..
Either way, this is not good for d esports scene and especially the csgo competetive scene.. csgo isnt only d esport scene where i think cheating happens... I bet LoL, CoD, etc also has their own set of "fixers" during matches.. i think d reason why its easier to track down cheating in csgo is due to steam market and csgo lounge.. look for any sign of "strange" bets and you can possibly connect it to a cheater.. its not that these cheaters want to own d rarest items in csgo for collection, its the value that these items possess that they can trade for real cash...

I genuinely misread this as "Valve warning the escorts community".
Left thread disappointed :(

Same. Thought it was something about them trading for TF2 keys.

It's such a shame to see professional players intentionally robbing their fans, but I'm glad that Valve are outright banning them from all of their sponsored events. Several other major leagues like ESEA and Faceit are also banning them from their tournaments. We can only hope that this will prevent further match fixing.

Heres the original article ,i know its a bit old but the content is still very relevant.
So long story shorts: a match between iBUYPOWER and NetCodeGuides.com had been found rigged and upon further investigation, valuable items were transferred from one team to another. As of such, they banned all the persons who participed in this from any futur esport even participation and very abundantly "made it clear" that such abuse wont be tolerated.
Now I think it was about time that Valve itself acknowledged the very big issue that exist whithin pretty much all competetive sports where there is a huge sum of money stake and these are the "premade matches" as I would call them aka when they decide between themselves in advance the outcome of it.
Honestly its rather sad that more and more professional cs go players are getting caught in these and moreso undermines the trustworthyness of the competetive scene in general. One can only hope that this is not something we will see repeatedly in the futur
