You should never pay less than $1 for something that's PWYW. The paypal fees alone normally cost the creators money if you're a cheapass.

Do we have any confirmation that that is true? I could see the money just disappearing into the Paypal abyss? But having a system that out of your control other people can cost you money buy paying into your account seems untenable.
Maybe they set it up so you pay any and all fees? OR like I said under a threshold it is just wasted.

Selling is 2.9% + $0.30 per sale, or less. As low as 2.2% based on volume

yeah, its possible that they don't use a merchant/business paypal account ( personal ones still have the ability to make carts and checkouts, both merchant and personal accounts are free) and that may not incur such high fees or fees at all until you reach a certain number of sales, i'm not 100% though.
still, it probably would have been best with a 20 or 30 cent minimum...

sorry that i barely have money on my paypal account
and besides if they allowed people to buy it for 0.01 cent its none of my concern whether they get burnt by it or not

The site looks broken right now, can't sign up, didn't receive login info via mail and can't even download the game (demo). Guess it will be back to normal later.
Edit: Got the game launcher now but it says it can't connect. It's progress though!

Just found this: "Thank you for your votes and purchases. The server is suffering at the moment. You may get errors signing up or playing the game. But I want to leave the sale on for a bit longer to give more people the opportunity to get the game at the price they want!" (Comment by the author on their Greenlight page)

thanks for the info, will try to run it a bit later on to see if its working

Anyone played it yet?
I am really leary with no indication of anywhere decent graphics, and I saw no indication of any particularly interesting gameplay; Minecraft style crafting in an RTS??? We need more Dungeon Keeper clones, but I am not sure that this is the one that we have been waiting for.

I've played it a bit the other day and it's very early (alpha) right now, at least as far as the actual campaign goes. so far it feels really nice gameplay wise, the crafting is basically a tacked on additional feature that SEEMS pointless to me, you could easily say you need X of this material and X of this material to make X in just the same way rather than having to place those materials into a grid. then again any of those grid crafting things could do the same. it has a lot of dungeon keeper elements, like having to pay your minions and feed them as well, invading heroes and such
overall I would say it has great potential, and right now it is worth a dollar or two for what it is

its a weird thing for me, like I never really noticed anything about it until thinking about it in that comment, but it is just a weird way to do 3 ore 2 grain to make a city. nothing wrong with it, but i just saw it as a needless feature at that moment.
I think it works better if you don't give the player all of the "blueprints" in a menu option like dungeon colony does.

Err, 3 ore and 2 grain make a city? Did you just make that up or is it really like that in this game? I didn't come this far yet. If it's real than I have to agree that it's weird but for example putting some boards on two logs to make a dinner table seems perfectly fine to me. I don't know about you but I have encountered this system in games like Minecraft and therefore it feels familiar to me. Maybe you just need to get used to it?
Regarding the blueprints I kind of agree, it would be more challenging and interesting if you had to experiment with it. Maybe basic blueprints could be offered to make the introduction easy enough but advanced blueprints would need to be discovered and after that they are in your collection. If it would be like this it would need to pause the game while you are crafting though.

Just thought I would post that dungeon colony is doing a pwuw direct from their webpage from $.01 it says it includes a steam key when they get greenlit or released on steam.
the game looked pretty interesting to me and I had already Favorited it on greenlight, so I thought some others might be interested as well.
