Valve themselves have re-used an older game's name.

Let's try that again.

It's actually related to a wee project I've had in the back of my mind for a little while that I call Same Name, Different Game, which involves comparing two completely different games from different eras that happen to share a name. So far I've found three examples. The two Portal games, as mentioned is one. There was another game also from Activision about the same time called Alter Ego, which shares a name with a completely unrelated game currently on Steam. The third is Starfox, which is an obscure (and awful) Atari 2600 game and, of course, the well-known SNES classic.

I'm getting some crazy ideas for the most confusing giveaway train ever....

I think it would be pretty easy to make this mistake while selecting the name from the drop-down list they force you to use. I doubt it is done as a bad deed, just an honest mistake.

perhaps you should not buy from grey market , and how much did you pay for particulars , you can get it for about 10 cents
i think OP is lying

That's so much higher than trade value (Particulars is a rather low value tradable), that I think I'm beginning to see how people can make a profit turning over tradables to grey market. :X
Here, you should consider checking barter in the future, you can basically swap any cheap bundle game off their wishlist for [ex, Particulars]. :P
Also, you should probably avoid G2A for the time being. Not necessarily because it's a disreputable grey market site (that's a good reason, though), but because you likely want to take some time and get a feel for game values before you make too many purchases you'll later regret :P

i only buy stuff for myself on g2a, you never know what can happen

+1 I must agree this might not be the best place to shop for GA's and some bundles can be had with more games for cheaper then the 2.00 they spent

While i am not trying to tell anyone what to do i am just saying that i am not sure this is the best way to purchase for a GA i think bundles would be a far safer bet and for the 2.00 they spent far more games could be had then just the one if you hit up Group Buys during IG happy hours you can usually get complete bundles for 1.00.-2.00 as the host splits the cost of buying in bulk, some will even take reserves to reserve a bundle that will have an happy hour, then pay when HH goes live.
And while i would suggest not using them at all as i do not like how they do things to each there own how they use there money.Still should be a lesson as to why you might not want to use this site. While it may be an honest mistake how many who are not being honest will play the i did not know card.

Well the way i see it bundle games or not a game is a game so i do not see what it matters if it is a bundle game or not it still giving. Also Humble has 1.00 tier bundles and sometimes they can be a nice grab usually they have at least 3 games.

I forgot about DIG aka DailyIndieGame if you buy there bundles and bta you get 2 bundles or if you use bitcoin you get it free by just paying the base price.
There bundles are a 1.49 but usually the BTA is around 1.60 great way to get games for yourself and some to give away or just double on up them for GA's

G2A is a big problem for legit sites that sell keys. Scammers are using stolen credit cards to buy keys from one site, then resell them on G2A to launder the money. I'd stay away unless the game you want to buy is no longer available or something.
