From what I've seen around the web, there will be a Steam release and a separate GFWL release. But don't get your hopes up just yet, it's not clear if the Steam release will use GFWL or not.

EDIT - Scratch that, it's been confirmed that the Steam release will also use GFWL, as most people thought.

Also, the extra content will be coming to consoles for $15.

That changes most of nothing. Steam is nice but it shouldn't be a mandatory factor in buying the game. I know it would be for some.
A good thing is that the consoles are also getting the extra content. It would be a shame for them to not have access.

The fact that the game will be released on Steam, with or without Steamworks, is good enough for me. I don't like GFWL one bit (my "corrupted" saves of Fable III and GTA IV are with me on that), but it's not something that would make me not buy it. Hopefully it won't stop most people from buying it, too.

FYI, DS being released on Steam doesn't meant it won't have GFWL. It's more than likely that it will be Steam+GFWL

Dark Souls has many of its features based on online play, KoM doesn't. The thought of having a Steamworks and a GFWL version is ridiculous due to compatibility issues in between the soon-to-exist copies. It will probably be GFWL only independently from being sold on Steam.

Yeah, I also don't think that's very probable. Still, these news are kind of "in the air", as they don't specify how this steam release will be.

There's no price specified yet, but my guess is that it will be $50. Maybe $40, with luck.

Steam + GFWL = Motherload of Achievements. Hopefully both or at least one of the two will have it, good lord.

Most of Steam/GFWL games have GFWL achievements.

This was known. Did anyone really think this was going to just be put up on the GFWL marketplace? Microsoft has stopped trying to make GFWL a real store for a while now. The issue was never that it was not heading to Steam but just that people hate GFWL.

And all versions will be GFWL. The boxed copies are going to be GFWL, and having two seperate services provide multiplayer would split the playerbase, which they're not going to do.

It was not confirmed that it was coming to Steam. Though it's not surprising that it will be coming, of course.

Good to hear the extra content is in fact coming to consoles, I'll still buy the PC version eventually though.

It will most likely use GfWL, that however means I wont buy it.

Considering this'll be a direct port, I'm pretty sure all versions will use GFWL because I highly doubt they'd want to invest time and money rewriting the netcode, when they could just copy and paste using the 360's.

I'm afraid it will, most probably, still retain the integrated GFWL client, even on Steam... just like GTA4, Fallout 3, and so on.

"Steam release and a separate GFWL release"

By that statement, it would seem like the Steam version will not include GFWL, though it would be....too good to be truth, to be honest.
