W-wow, that's a lot of games for $1.49. I'm almost tempted just to do some filler giveaways to fix my terrible ratio these past few weeks.

Or we could NOT support lousy developers ;P

I believe those are all cheap $1 or so games, as well, so it'll actually be a fair bit less notable than many other bundles for CV :X

Though I guess if your aim is ratio, it's good.. :X
Well, someone'll enjoy them! and maybe not even just for card-farming and library size!

This is where I have been drawing the line at certain bundles. I just don't want to encourage scams like 'Journey of the Light' and developers like Digital Homicide who make money from getting their crap in bundles or selling their stuff so cheap that people can profit from cards without making anything resembling a playable game...

Low quality games from this publisher.. But the Terra game was alright though! I liked it.

In general the games in this bundle are cheap, so it's only good / expected that the bundle price is that cheap aswell ^^

It's the name of the publisher for all these games.
In fact it's all the games they have on steam at the moment. Clicky

1,49€ would make it nearly 0,10€ a game, but since it's mostly 0,99€ junk i have no idea if i should really do it since i own lot of them already.

Wow. IG usually tries to throw in at least one game that hasn't been previously bundled.

From a value perspective it doesn't seem too bad though. 14 games for $1.50 (not even happy hour) and 12 of them have cards for people who want to farm.

You also need to think about it's 0.99 €/$ per game full price.. :P Except one game that's 1.99 €/$. But yeah, it's still alright if one doesn't own these games already, I guess.

Ah. I didn't really think of it in terms of percent off, just that for 11 cents a game you'd likely break even or profit from the cards even without happy hour.

If I cared about increasing my Steam level I'd be all over bundles like these. Buy a 20-pack during happy hour and host a group buy, but keep 10 copies to yourself and activate them on your main and 9 alts. If this bundle goes like 70 cents during happy hour, that'd get you 60 sets/6000 XP/12 lvl 5 badges for around $7.

Edit: Just noticed it says at the bottom this bundle will have no happy hour. Ah well.

But that would take so much time and resources.. I wouldn't bother at all. And definitely not since the badges, backgrounds and emoticons are probably even more ugly.

I've known people who hadn't gotten replies within a year.
In my case, they replied to my request to have an overcharge fixed, then suspended my account and blocked my IP and for half a year refused to respond to my e-mails, facebook, and twitter messages (up till they finally deleted my account altogether a few weeks ago). I lost $35 worth of bundle keys :X

Just.. be careful with that site :X

GMG, IndieGala, and HRK all have bad reputations, for differing reasons.
I haven't really heard much either way about newer/less-active sites (other than LazyGuys having a bit of a bad attitude toward other bundle sites), and while Groupees has some approaches to things that are dubious, they're quite reliable when it comes to ensuring your purchases. Haven't heard a single bad thing about Bundlestars, and Humble has always been utterly fantastic for me, and everyone I've spoken to.

Unfortunately, if it comes to region-locking, that's likely due to the publishers/developers. Humble support has clarified that they do very little in formatting the bundles, nearly everything is determined by the developers/publishers involved.

But geeze, losing out on Humble'd suck :/

If you have someone you trust, you can transfer funds to someone in ROW region, have them activate the bundle, and send you the keys- but risks aside, there's several extra expenses involved in that process, to the point of even doubling what you'd be paying otherwise (in my experience).

Hasn't it just been the big publisher bundles (Capcom, Codemasters) that've been doing it, though? Or are all the Humble bundles doing that, now? :/

I got burned by Codemaster bundle, and now I'm somewhat terrified to get another. =:/

I'm not enough socialized to have trusty friends in RoW regions, I have problems with that IRL. =:) But I think I have opportunity to move to some Scandinavia country (Norway, I suppose), so the hope is not lost. Also, picrelated.

Thank you about all the information! Gotta note that.

The forums here usually say pretty quickly if a Humble bundle is region-locked or not [and you can always ask if it hasn't been brought up yet]. Probably your safest bet for future bundles- though I'm pretty sure weekly/non-major-publisher bundles are basically always not region-locked [though of course, being in a ROW region, I couldn't say for sure :X ].

Weird. I had a problem with them recently -- well, it was me who f'ked up lol. I meant to purchase a gift during happy hour and forgot to tick the gift box. I contacted their support and within 12 hours they had emailed me and told me they added the gift links to my library.

Granted, it's the only time I've had to use their support system, but they did alright by me.

I read your comment below about losing your account there, and that's utterly wrong. I'll definitely be careful with them in the future, but damn those bundles are hard to pass up.

but damn those bundles are hard to pass up.
I feel ya. :X
Though thankfully it's been nothing but rebundles, and most of them trashy ones, of late :P

And yeah, they cleared up an identical gift issue for me about a year and a half ago? and it worked well enough. But then I only had ignored e-mails for the year following, up till the rather extreme response to my overcharge e-mail. The majority of people I've talked to have had ignored or dismissed e-mails for the past year or so as well, though it looks like a few requests may still be making it through? :X

I don't even know :X

But yeah, so long as you're careful, always remember to back up your keys immediately off-site.. theoretically, you should be fine. Hopefully :X

Though, had a few people mention broken/mis-labeled keys (before my suspension, so over half a year ago) that IG wouldn't fix, though. Looks like that might have only affected a few users (happened to only one of my keys), was some sort of site glitch.

I just haven't had even remotely positive experiences with them, or impressions of them, thus far :X

And as far as my account circumstances goes, one could claim it's a singular employee, except that I was ignored for half a year on three different communication mediums :/

Yikes, that's awful.

I've had a couple of semi-bad experiences with GMG (they didn't want to move my Playfire to a new GMG account, and they once gave me a bad pre-order key and took a week to fix it), but I've been pretty lucky outside of that.

I always, ALWAYS back up my keys to a spreadsheet (which is also backed up to my server LOL) the moment I get them. :P

Permalink

GMG's issues are- and this straight from support- that they don't ensure keys work after a week from purchase (so redeem them immediately!), and that if any keys are activated to a second account (doesn't matter if it's trading, or giving it to a family member) they revoke support for your entire order.

Add in how they've a reputation for not offering refunds/replacements even when the platform of the game was poorly detailed and you got a copy for a platform (Steam, GOG, drm-free] you didn't intend [which makes sense, if the confusion hadn't started on their end to begin with], and a reputation for very rude customer support..

They can be a bit difficult to work with at times, is all.
But, they do tend to have the cheapest non-bundle prices on games, and technically you should be fine if you read carefully (making sure all the info listed matches up right), buy a game for your own account, and activate within a week.

I always, ALWAYS back up my keys to a spreadsheet (which is also backed up to my server LOL) the moment I get them. :P
Good on you. I always seem to end up getting distracted right away and forgetting :X
(Not that I ever bothered even considering it before the IG mishap, to my irritation and significant loss.)

The only time I order from them is pre-order stuff, and only because they always have a %-off voucher, which beats Steam's prices every time. The only games I've ordered through them were Dying Light, Alien Isolation, Borderlands TPS (regretfully pre-ordered), and Fallout 4.

Thanks for all the info about them. Some of it is completely new to me, particularly the bit about not supporting a purchase if it's for another account (I often buy games - though not yet on GMG - for my wife and stepsons). I do know first-hand what a pain their support is. It took them months and a dozen emails to get my Playfire moved over to the right account, and a week to get my pre-order key sorted, which somewhat defeated the purpose of me pre-ordering at all.

Really, the only thing they have going for them over Steam is their prices. And I most definitely agree that they need to be more prominent in displaying the game's platform. I've, have almost mistakenly made a purchase of a Uplay game thinking it was for Steam (almost purchased Zombi when it was $9.99)

Udon'tplay.. :shudder:

Speaking of terrible game distributors :P

Though their complete lack of giving a **** about how many of their games are broken, and of all the negative feedback their actions generate, is certainly impressive, in its own way.

And yeah, Playfire support was always pretty darn terrible :P
