So, I got Payday 2 free to play the last weekend, after which it got removed. Despite of it no longer being in my library, when I try to enter Payday 2 Giveaways, it says it still exists in my account. I have synced my steam account for at least 5 times at different times, yet I have the same issue. Would any of you, kind fellas, give me a hand with this one?

sync your account here - http://www.steamgifts.com/account/profile/sync and then turn everything off and then turn it all back on again. (Your Steam client as being everything)

That's where I synced the account the last five times, not working. It doesn't give me an error, but it simply doesn't remove Payday 2 from the library.

I've been restarting it for the past 2 days. The game doesn't exist any longer in my Steam library, although it seems to be here, on Steamgifts.

This will be an error on Steam's end where it will continue to report the game as owned for up to two weeks. Try again in a couple of days, hope to get lucky.

Best choice is to buy the games during those sales, much faster than trying to win it. :P

Short on money now. Before, I wouldn't be able to run the game on this PC until I get myself some new parts, so figured that trying to win it for free would be a much better deal, but thanks for the info.

I had a similar issue the last free weekend, though no matter what I did the Steam store said it was in my Library but it wasn't actually there. It eventually went away, it sucks.

I see that too. Anyway seams that the only "fix" is to wait.

There was actually a post about this in SG where the solution seemed to be buying anything from Steam and redeeming it to your account. That forces Steam to update/check it's API, marking your non-owned game properly and freeing them up for you to enter giveaways. Search the forum topics to find the right posting about this. (I don't have time, right now, but I'd try "sync" or something in my search.)

That [thread] is not the one that has the actual solution to the problem in it, however. Try again. P

aren't they the same, except my comment is simplified and doesn't have the technical aspect? well, whatever...

meh... sort of..

My earlier comment was based on my misunderstanding of your reference. I was talking threads, you were talking comments. Two different things entirely. Despite that,, your comment came across to me as too simplified and therefore not necessarily understandable.

I finally broke down and did the footwork for this. There are two threads that contain the "fix." This is one.

your link:

I added an game, and this immediate solved the problem.
Apparently Steam API only updates when a game is added.

my comment:

I was linking to the thread, not just the comment. Your comment, while correct, did not contain all of the information the thread did. I apologize for not being clear. I tend to be brief, but sometimes being brief leads to confusion due to "not enough information." To remedy that, I decided to just make a post about the entire thing.

i try to seem like not being hurt when people don't give a damn about what i said (i mean, when i write something serious. not when i'm kidding around.) but it kinda hurts. you know, even though i mentioned the same thing hours ago, nobody gave a damn and you told it like it wasn't suggested to the op before.

such drama
much serious banana

also if this drama is not enough, let me add that you rejected my link for not being the link of a thread that has the solution explained detailed, while my link was for my comment from this very same thread. i mean what da... do i look like that stupid to refer to the same thread as the thread of the solution? ;_;

anyway, thanks for that detailed thread. now we can simply link that thread when someone asks the same question (i know they will).

I will try harder to clarify what I have written previously.

You responded to the OP with the solution to his problem. That comment seems to have been overlooked. Indeed, it was overlooked by me when I was scanning the entire thread. (I like to read the entire thread before commenting.) When I posted my response, you pointed out that you had already responded with that information (albeit in condensed form). You also included a link. When I followed the link, I saw that you had linked to the selfsame thread. I did not noticed that you had linked to your specific comment. I mistakenly thought you were highlighting the thread, not the comment. (This is not unusual. People do it quite often.)

In my original response, I had referred to a different thread, one which contained an entire discussion on the matter in some detail. I felt the details in that thread were worth reading and were possibly required to understand what was going on and how to fix it. The explanation contained in the whole of that thread was not included in your comment. I pointed this out in your response to my comment. I was talking about an entire thread. You were talking about a single comment. It seems that I was not clear about the point I was trying to make; that the OP should read the entire (older) thread to better understand the issue.

Due to my lack of clarity, and the resultant misunderstanding, you feel that I have overlooked your comment and your being helpful. That is far, far away from the truth. I have indeed noticed that you were prompt in providing the solution to the OP's problem, and I think it is common knowledge that you are my favorite banana. You have been a regular contributor to the community, you are quick to help those in need, and you are a friendly voice in the SG community. I apologize for my failure to be clear. It was never my intention to slight you or make you feel unappreciated.
