I really love this game and I think some of you too. The gameplay was so inventional that many games nowaday don't possess. Question is: Is there any possibility that the series will be revived like Neighbour from hell?

Upvote for the game on GOG.

Not much chances, as nobody knows who actually owns right to it.

Monolith does and they are still going.

And that's where you'd think wrong.

Just because they developed it doesn't mean they have the rights to the franchise. Which is why (for big-name example) Harmonix made Rock Band instead of continuing with Guitar Hero 3 after they split with Activision ->
Activision owned the product name.

The problem with NoLF is that someone somehow managed to lose track of who owns the name and with that the publishing rights. (Probably a Vivendi-style mess-up when they shuffled from Sierra Entertainment to Vivendi games to Activision etc.)

Wasn't Systeam Shock 2 in a similar mess? I hope this one also makes it to Steam.

System Shock 2 was only a mess for System shock 3. The core issue was that the designers and the dev's both wanted to do a third, things got really messed up and then we got Bioshock and Dishonored out of the mess. PCGamer had a three page article about it.

I don't know how it is possible to lose track of a thing such as this. Maybe a visit to a trademark court would give some answers?

I love this franchise, too bad its impossible to buy anywhere.

If anyone can do it, it's GOG.com.

But many previous comments stated that owner right is nowhere to be found. So I think GOG can't do things on their own alone.

I hope that both of the NOLF games is brought to Steam. I've played the second game and it's a lot of fun. Funny gags, weird gadgets, nonsensical enemies. Ah, what nostalgia.....

That would be awesome -- don't think I ever did play the sequel, but the first one was a lot of fun.
In the meantime, you can at least upvote them on GOG.com.

With many older games enjoying a renaissance on Steam, this series would be a great addition. I've still got the first one in a box in the cupboard but never did get a hold of the sequel.
