Why is it so, mate? I remember playing it before this big update came into life. I know there are cheaters, bugs etc. that really ruin all the fun, are extremely frustrating and depressing and such but.... I remember I enjoyed time spent ingame with my Friends a lot! Has the game changed yet more since that time and now is even worse or something? And if You decided to reply, thanks for your answer in advance.

i also spent a lot of time with friends and it was a lot of fun as well but when i last played it was impossible, huge new map with nothing about it on the internet so when i tried to play with friends it was impossible to find each other, no loot (the new map had like only a few areas with trees for wood and no loot at all, a friend told me that they added random barrels to loot), all progress on servers lost, etc...
i'm not sure about the game now but i uninstalled rust once a new announcement come saying "we want you to stop building" or something like that and saying that everyone was being a pain in the ass because there was nothing to do on this game and all progress was lost, guess what?! the fun about the game was to survive, loot and build (maybe break in some houses as well)
i'm not even gonna start talking about the zombies :D
i might just download a pirated rust of the first versions which were the best and see if there is any server still running the oldest versions

Oh, I can't believe it turned out to be that bad... Maybe it's not THAT bad yet? Maybe You was just unlucky or something? Also, it really sucks not to be able to find each other on map - that's pretty true and if map is even bigger now... Oh well :D
About map on Internet and such things.. Don't worry, people will make tutorials soon I think. Also, what's it about "progress lost"? Are You referring to often rollbacks or something else?
BTW. If You, by any chance, would like to try the game again, I'm here available to play :)

in progress because there was no "play offline" or "solo mode" yet and everyone needs to play in servers, of course that with that huge updates no progress was saved (for example houses, containers, loot, minerals, etc) and mostly for me and my cousin (which we both played everyday for a mounth at least 1 hour per day and almost the hole day in weekends) playing on the same server building and just joking around, sneaking in someone's house, try to avoid others to sneak in, sniper fights, gathering resources, loot and stuff like that
there was always some other 2 guys playing on that server and we aways tried to sneak at the other "groups" house to get the resources and sometimes we were a group of four so we used to use them as baits to break in their houses and kill them... OF COURSE that nothing matters now that the game was hyped and starting again would be a pain in the ass (don't get me wrong there, we got our resources stolen a lot of times but there's always that something left that would help a lot and loot was easy to find) plus as i said we tried to find each other for a week on this new update and nothing so yeah, rust was really good with zombies (or red bears and wolfs) and the only message i got from the devs was "playing what you paid for? fuck you! this is early acess and we can change it from a game you paid to another game! we could change it to fuck you simulator and there's nothing you could do about it because this is a early acess"
fuck steam early acess, i dont care if it has a blue warning, i bought rust because it was a good survival game already and no one would change anything unless fix the bugs
