Nobody is forcing you to do it, and it's not worse than the IGN prime exploit that most people on the site used anyways.

Anymore games?
Already own BC2 and Spore and DA:O aren't all that appealing, otherwise I might try this.

Another way to exploit the system and make Origin less appealing by getting free promo codes.
But if they think their client will be better than Steam anytime soon, then by all means spread this around to everyone who prefers Steam over Origin and want to prove that Steam should be chosen over EA's beta client. Yeah, it's still in a beta stage, unlike Steam which first developed in 2003.

Doesn't matter, it's real people on the Internets and you are on the Internets that what you are in real life.

At most it'd be lying about your location. And if EA cared about people lying they would check IP's.

I've cheated Origin too many time already to do this, lol.

This is what they sent me for an activation e-mail
I figured I'd do this since I have the sims on steam and an old EA account I could convert. Apparently they don't want my business.

Same and I was trying to subscribe to the newsletter to get the email about the free game, but the dumb thing won't click! And when I saw the "Your Friends at Origin" I said to my friend next to me. "I have no friends at Origin or EA I hate them all."

This promotion/offer has now officially ended. Hope you got your games and if you didn't, I'm sorry. Game on.
NOTE: You need patience since support takes around 30-40 minutes to take your ticket.
Yes, I know this is steamgifts, but I also know you like free stuff. Origin or EA (don't know which in particular) is celebrating a one year anniversary or something like that, and they are giving away one out of three games for free. The games are: Dragon Age: Origins, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Spore.
The requisites to get the game are:
EA won't check your IP, so just by changing your location works. How do you do this? Head over to EA's site, click in your account name in the upper right corner, go to "My Account" and edit the regional settings.
Once you are done with this, head to the help section. Where it asks "WHAT GAME DO YOU HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT?" you have to look for the game you want out of the three previously named, after you selected it, click "Contact Us".
Under the "WHAT TYPE OF ISSUE ARE YOU HAVING?" section you should see three boxes to complete, the first one with the name of the game, the second one titled "CATEGORY", where you should select "Technical support", and finally the one titled "PLATFORM", where you should select "PC". After doing this, click where it says "Live help" and wait until you get contacted by the support representative. You should tell him/her that a friend of you told you that they were giving away a game for the anniversary and you want to know if the promotion is still going on. If it is you'll be asked for some information to check your account and then you'll be asked which game you want and receive an origin redeemable key for the one you selected.
That's about it, enjoy.
tl;dr: If you want either spore, battlefield: bad company 2 or dragon age: origins for free read all the above. If you don't, then press control + F4.
