I try joining in for games I like, but when I leave my computer, it feels wrong not to have 0p. I only remember about it right before I want to go away though.
It usually looks like this:
Alright, gotta go to bed, I'll just close these tabs real quick.
Oh, steamgifts exists.
Ok, I have 23p, this game for 20p is preety cool I guess.
Ok, 3p... damn I'm really sleepy. Ok, sure, bazoo great adventure in space poker fun time, sounds great.
And then I end up winning it. How do you deal with this?

Do you find yourself in the same situation?

Yes, I always make sure to be at 0p when I'm leaving, by the end I don't care about the quality of the games.
I don't care at all, I just join things at random.
No, I always manage to stay at 0 with games I look forward to playing.
No, I don't care if I "waste" some points or not.
*Yeah right, like it was actually about games at some point.*
Some other option I really should have thought of.

I'm at 300 points most of the times because there are so few games I really want to enter for. What good would it do wining crap? I wouldn't even be happy about it.

+1. I enter like one giveaway daily, probably. More if there are more giveaways for what I'd like to play.

Try to stop doing it. Else you'll end up with games you are simply not interested in, which is pretty much equal to not have won anything. At the beginning I think many are like this (at least I was, before I won my first 2-3 games), eventually you'll just happily sit on your 300p without worries.

I rarely spend all my point. If I was to enter GAs for games I wouldnèt play just too use up my point, I think it would be wasted anyway since I'd never play the game anyway. Also there my be someone else who would have actually play the game...

Belated Welcome to Steamgifts to you!

I voted for Other, as in, "No, I only enter for games I want and will make time to play." Earlier in my SG days, it was more, "enter for games I'm interested in," although how much "interest" I needed to have has varied, especially if it had been a long time since a win (we all love Spacecat). I won a few games I regret winning, though, and will likely never play, so I've stopped doing that.

The only time I spend all my points is when Humble Monthly is released (if I skipped it and there's a game I want).
After checking all the giveaways for the last several hours, I'm at 282p. :X

Don't enter for stuff you don't really want, because someone else might really want it. ;_;

I rarely enter any GA's (like maybe 2 or 3 per month), so no, it's not an issue for me. But why would you need to have exactly 0p? If you win something you're interested in, you might start feeling guilty, instead of being happy to have won something...

It doesn't feel wrong at all. What feels wrong is those very rare occasions when I try to enter something and it says I don't have enough points. Then I think, ooh, I'm being too greedy.

I hear you. You don't want to waste points...... But I started looking at the time that takes. Why am I spending an extra few min to use up that last point. How much time is a point worth for a CHANCE to win a game that you can just enter another time. Not much is the correct answer.

I've never entered something just to enter it and use up a point. (OK, I did when I first started here) But I have spent several min going over my entered wishlisted games to remove some to add others to get down to the perfect 0 before going to bed so I know the obsession with it.

So I think (hope) I finally stopped doing that a couple weeks ago. I've left points several times now and I'm trying to break that need to use them all up. I do however pretty much have a wishlist with games from all point ranges so Its easy to use up most so there are less then 5 points left when I go to bed. But I stop at that point. No more looking for the 1 point game to temporarily remove when I have 4 points left so I can enter a 5 point game to get the 0 points left mark.

Edit.... Now I need to stop buying pointless bundles. I just bought that mega buck thing just to give them all away. Perhaps this weekend. Why..... its all trash.... I have no idea why I bought it, but I did. lol.

You have no idea how similar we are. The only difference is you seem to have a little bit more money.

300 points 95% of time, bored from entering... In some days i pass 4 years of registration and won only 21 games, waiting on each 3+ months, iam rlly bored. Then i can see guys who winning multiple games in 1 week. Sent 100 games more than won... Resigned, too much effort to 3/4 games per year.. Invite, whitelist, groups GAs included

For me is more a case of seeing that I have 300p and going to the main page to join the massive giveaways at the start of the page and then I also end up joining a few gibs at random cause they are in the same page, then I win one of those and start to wonder when I joined that GA :P

I used to do that, but at some point I started just joining the GA's I'm really interested in. I usually have like 25 point left, just because there is nothing more that I want.

There is very easy solution:

extended steam gifts (if I remember corectly :) and search for games ex. 20+

After that search for some of them and make bookmarks like:
https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaways/search?q=Clickteam%20Fusion%202.5
https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaways/search?app=24010

And these are the places to store points

The numbers should not have greatest common divisor bigger than for ex. 10- if you have 30n and 40n you can wait for 10 points- remove 30 and enter 40 ;) In this moment I have 555 points in store.

But you need to check regularly to get the points out :)

I hope that this helps.
Have a nice weekend!

PS. You can also lose points if game decrease value (6+ bookmarks should be OK- diversity is security ;) - but with big supply who cares :)

No, I don't really care about these points, and I don't see any sense in entering GAs for games I don't need: for every GA there are people that actually want this game, why would I diminish their chances if I won't basically get anything aside from +1/cards anyway?

The last time I had 0 points was when they added the ABC Murders to some Humble Bundle I didn't care about, and the site was flooded with it. (Then somebody gifted it to me and I'm about to start finally playing it this Saturday. ^.^) Before that… I cannot even remember when was the list time I saw my point bank go below 200.

Not on my wishlist? Not worth my points. Someone else would like the game more than me.
