It REALLY varies from card to card, but see this.

And note that most people will try to lowball you with cards worth 6c post-tax.

I'd say 10-40 is a decent amount. I know that's pretty large range but it all depends on how much you value each game.

Both. As a reference, think of 10-15 cards as being a dollar.

Generally cards people actually trade are 8-12c from bundled games or such. Do the math and compare it to other prices on the market (keys are worth 2.1-2.3, ref .3). 1 key is usually traded for 20-35 cards. If I were you, I'd just trade in keys. They're much more convenient and they have a fairly definite price.

This may sound very rude, but generally: FUCK 'EM. Have a definite price in your head when you trade, it makes things much simpler.

Fez sells for around 14 mid tier cards (if you count the pure value), the Ship would be around 28 mid tier.

The value depends on the steam market, which works like any other market depending on supply and demand. So main place is to look there, although i find it very disorganised, u need to know what u are looking for before hand. You can also look at a graph of the sales by clicking 'sell' from your inventory. Alternatively, I have a firefox addon called enhanced steam which adds various helpful tools to the steam site, including current card prices when viewing which cards i have fora particular badge.

I used to trade with cards a lot. I generally shorted cards into 4+1 categories.

(sorry my currency is euro but I hope you get the idea)

  • Unsellable tier - 0.03-0.04 euros (e.g. Awesomenauts, Orion Dino Horde)

  • Low tier - 0.05-0.06 euros (e.g. TF2, Terraria, Garry's Mod, Guacamelee usually these cards sell the most quick)

  • Mid tier - 0.07-0.09 euros (e.g. Payday 1-2, Risen 2, Binding of Isaac, Saints Row the Third)

  • Top tier - 0.09-0.14 euros (e.g. Borderlands 2, Portal 2, Skyrim, Bioshock Infinite, Rust, Bastion)

+1 Rarities - any cards above 0.14 euros (e.g. Loadout, Puddle)

Foil cards greatly vary in price from 0.19 (terraria, magicka) to 0.74 (TF2) to even 10 euros.

I usually counted Booster packs as three cards of value, but some consider it more valuable because they might drop a foil card (I've yet to see any though)

Anyway thats my guide, hope it helped.
