S.T.A.L.K.E.R: shadow of chernobyl [Discussion + 2 giveaways]

Stalker is awesome. One of my favorite FPS games ^^

I advise using the complete mod with it; it fixes some of the bugs, gives a graphical overhaul and adds some new content.

Stalker SOC is my favourite FPS. Never had the time to finish playing it. The feeling when you actually kill anything with your weapon is very satisfying. The game itself is a unique mix of FPS and RPG. I was half way through the game when my hard disk died.

Stalker SOC is my favourite Stalker, the feeling which is scary and at the same time.. lonely... i were happy when i saw other survivors.

SoC is good, but Call of Pripyat is better. If you plan to play it, don't install CoP Complete, install Atmosfear + a bunch of other small mods or something similar. Clear Sky is terrible without mods, though.

Well, I've finished both of them. Was a unique experience, but I want to replay them again with the mods. I've heard they add so much.

I started playing SOC with the complete mod, but I don't know why the stamina bar didn't appear, and there was a rifle that had the image of a shotgun. I tried to uninstall and install the mod again and my saves didn't work anymore. I had to do a backup of my computer and didn't install it again, but I am doing it right now.

The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series is amazing, one of the best of all time and the best atmosphere of all time IMO. It's a shame S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 isn't being made anymore, at least we have Survarium to look forward to!

I need to give each of the STALKER games another playthrough again...So fun everytime.

Had to take pictures once when I was returning from a loot run and I was on my way back to camp to sell my artifacts when I walked up the crest of a hill, the sun was just starting to rise, shining down the hill, and I heard the sound of someone playing their guitar. Everything was just so perfect sounding and looking. I was running Clear Sky Complete at the time.

I tried SoC but I didn't really enjoy it. Fallout games on the other hand, were great.

ive played stalker shadown of chernobyl retail and completed it twice without any mods highly recommend that game

i wish there were more i used complete mod in clear sky and am planning to start CoP soon enough :P

i really hope STALKER 2 sees the light of the day

I've had this game on Steam for years, and even have the mod installed, but haven't ever given it more than about 20 minutes. I ended up picking a fight with some random soldiers I saw on a road and they proceeded to slaughter me and violate my corpse. I wasn't in the mood for a terribly difficult game that day, but I just never got back to it.

SoC overheated and melted my old video card and fused it to my motherboard lol. I have yet to play it again.

Go go shitty coding, and PrecisionX not warning me it was maxing out my card, and I was playing the game on medium too.

Haven't played the STALKER before but heard it was pretty good.

STALKER SOC is a great game, it's got a nice atmosphere. A friend told me the LURK mod makes the game even better, I gotta try that sometime.

im seriously glad i played that game and that my computer was enought to stand it, its a really awesome game, unlike fallout which the more you play the game, the more real guns like the assault rifle feel made out of plastic, but you become overpowered, in stalker it actually feels like you are a real person, you arent a bullet sponge at all. ill probably doa second playtrought, which is something really big coming from me, i rarely replay games, the only open world game i have replayed was bully, ill probably install oblivion lost.

however, considering how you seem to praise a lot stalker´s difficultie, so you may be dissapointed in call of prypiat

I really enjoyed playing the game. There were a few times where I didn't want to play the game anymore because it was so hard, but I'm glad that I managed to beat the game. Haven't used the mod, but I'll probably install it on my second playthrough.
