+1 to this. I had the same issue, Google even alerted me that there are attempts to log in from China/Thailand/other-distant-countries I've never ever been to... Switched to double authentication method and all stopped. In my activity report there are only attempts I've made.

A mí también me ha llegado un correo hoy dobre actividad inusual, fueron sólo dos y no pone el lugar. Ya es la segunda vez que me pasa, parece que no guardan muy bien los datos.

Had that happen to me too, had to change my password. Wasn't even sure how long it was going on for. I still get login attempts from China every so often.

For those using gmail and want to know:

Go to your inbox main view (where you see the list of emails you have gotten). Scroll to the VERY bottom and at the bottom right of the list, is something that says "Recent activity" and then a time stamp in minutes or hours. Click that, if will give you a pop-up window with all recent log-ins (or attempts) as well as places and IPs

Nothing strange on mine :3

My gmail is fine but my hotmail/outlook has had incorrect pw attempts from Spain, China, Germany, Russia, Netherlands, and Serbia. @_@

somebody got your mail and tried to bruteforce it with one of those cracking programs, if you have a strong password and you are sure nobody keylogged you, you are safe.

If somebody mistyped it, it wouldn't have attempts from 6 different countries. Trust me, I know how that thing works. You get a bunch of proxies, an username list, and a pw list, and then the program uses each proxy for one combo until it manages to login to the account.

Eh, they're all on different days though. August 18, 23, 26, 29, 30, Sept 1, 3... The only repeat country is China: just two times. If that's a brute force it would be a very slow one ._.

I don't understand how the attempts being from different countries is relevant to the matter. Besides what Sinovera already said above, imagine the people from those 6 different countries use the username cowzo, corzo, coeso, xoezo, voezo etc (similar to my username here, for example)... It's pretty acceptable that they might mistype it at some point. I have already mistyped my login, many times.

Maybe some website you are registered in just got hacked and stolen all email accounts. And now they are trying to get access to your account!
Lucky you that they can't.

EDIT: After looking my activity I find out that someone in China tried to. But just one. Looks like I'm save ^^

Gmail seems good but my hotmail account is not. People from different countries tried to access it, or might just be a proxy or a VPN.
