Its true. If you dont click on some random "Free Item Link" and you dont download every programm you see on the internet you will not get a virus that easy.

Come on, a 6 months trial is not a free licence at all. It's only marketing in order to make people try and maybe buy.

But a 6 month trial is something actually very good, tho.

You can look at it as a free 6 month license. As this kind of software is often licensed instead of full copies that last forever. :P

Looks like we disagree on that point :)

In fact, I'm fed up with false advertising and "free" thinks that ask for your debit card number. I would have no problem with the offer if it it was clearly labelled a trial (I still wouldn't be interested in joining, but that's something else ^^)

What do you think a trial is? It's a free licence.

Sure, free like in "give me your money or stop using the product". A shareware and a freeware are 2 different things, one is try before buy, the other is free, as in"gift", as in "do what you want", as in "not motivated by direct profit".

Then downgrade to the free version. Also usually also after the 6 months are up, they will also discount your purchase.

It is valid until 6/2/2018 for me. At least that's what displayed on my screen, dunno yours. More than a year, even though it's called trial it's more than enough for me. License for AV is usually yearly even for paid one.

All of these things are licensed and a trial is usually 30 days or something. So I'd say it is a free license.

Does people still buy antivirus? Im using avast free version and never had any problems. I could understand if extra protection needed for company computers but for home?

Depends on your situation. If you're home user and only have few computers for family, free solution is enough.

But for me with huge network containing 50+ with many users in my company, it's not even feasible to not even an AV. I have AV with MBAM installed on each PC, paired with other prevention methods like Spyware Blaster.
