Which one to buy?
Some people say original Metro is even better than Redux version :) If I had it already I'd go with Pony Island + another cheap gem :) Question is: will you play it right away or any time soon? I haven't bought anything this sale cos I've realized I wasn't really hyped enough for anything but Antichamber (which I was lucky to be gifted from a very kind person).

I guess I need to watch some comparison between the two Metro version to see if the type of changes are important for me. From running the benchmark, the old version of 2033 looks beautiful and runs very smooth on my desktop (which is my main gaming PC), but micro-stutters on my HTPC CrossFire setup.
Pony Island is a 3 hour game, so there's a good chance I'll play it soon.

If I only was as clever as you - some time ago I've bought Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition cos it was very cheap despite I had original game, then it turned out Definitive Edition version has only cosmetic changes and I regret buying it instantly (and I still haven't played neither version until now so it was complete waste of money) :P

hmm... Dex is really cool, Ether One looks interesting and is one i'm considering too, dunno about lost Horizon, Metro is a legit af shooter (apparently, i didn't play it much because didn't run so well on my meh system), Pony island looks cool but is so cheap... Prototype is fun and would no doubt be worth it (if you've a controller), i really enjoyed RAGE but i played it at launch
...i voted for Prototype (but be warned that there was recently a remastered edition released for console, no telling if will come to PC and if it will be a free upgrade if it does)(otherwise, would vote for Dex, Metro or Ether, in that order)

i mean, during such event sales as these (as opposed to the weekly ones), a game's base price being cheap, to me, merits it being put further on the back burner, in favor of more expensive games with better discounts that probably won't be had again until another event sale happens

I already bought 2 copies of Pony Island for giveaways, so in effect my spending on it won't be any different from any of the other games ;-) yes, I know this is nonsense
One advantage of the lower cost is that I can fit 2 games for the price of 1, e.g. get Pony Island and RAGE for less than the price of the Metro bundle, which is what I'm likely to do. I think I'll just play Metro 2033 (which I own) first, then consider the bundle in the next sale.

Wow ... tough choice, and several different genres, too. :X
It's really a mood thing for me, and they're all great games, but I'd have to go with the Metro Redux bundle. Those games really stand out above the others listed, IMHO. Story, immersion, gameplay , value per dollar ... yeah, they're my choice.

Have you had a chance to play the original version of Metro 2033? The Metro bundle price is probably not a once in a lifetime deal, so perhaps I should give 2033 (which I own) a chance before putting more money into this franchise. At least judging from the benchmark, it still looks awesome (and runs very smoothly on my main gaming PC).

The Redux is the same game, but on the Last Light game engine, and with an extra game mode (I believe).
I've played more of the original than I have the Redux, and it's still a beautiful game, no doubt.
You could definitely get away with playing the original 2033, then pick up Last Light later, and get something else now. In that case, I'd have to go with Rage, which I really enjoyed.

I voted for Metro, but if you have spare money, Rage is excellent, not Metro excellent, but excellent nevertheless.

I've tried to play Metro games but they seem way too boring, no space for your choices.
It's just completely out of your hands, you just walk through the game, shooting monsters or people and that's it, not my type of a game, I guess.
I consider these games just a version of Counter Strike, only with bots.

I'm somewhat the opposite. I view DLCs as something that delays me from playing the next games, so I usually don't buy them. I can see though why someone who loves the universe of a specific game will not want to miss out on any related content.

I chose Dex. I bought a copy for myself a while ago (also got the Soundtrack DLC), and will hopefully find time to play it sometime soon. It really looks fun!:)

Go Pony Island. Just don't expect it to keep you busy for too long.

I don't know any of these, so I'm sorry I can't help ;)

Honestly, Metro Redux Bundle is the best option out of the list you gave. Even though you already have the original Metro 2033, the Redux version shines more on 2033 rather than Last Light (people complaint that it mostly look the same). Anyhow, you can't go wrong with the purchase. The single player experience is just amazing!

Dex and Ether one looks really cool, Metro and Pony Island is also looks like a great choice. Lost Horizon... I had it wishlisted, but still not sure if it would worth picking up (at any point with my backlog) ; Prototype has a super awesome story that unfolds sadly a little too slowly, and majority of the gameplay is breaking stuff and beating up thousands of various enemies, with a stronger foe sometimes + story bosses. Consider it a sandbox game with good story, better approach than taking the story as etalon and sub-par gameplay compared to that.
And RAGE.... started it. Runs really well even on my okayish laptop, shooting is nice, but it annoys me out of the world how much of a console game it is - overly smooth movements, very few interactive spots, and while there are paths and roads, you literally can not go further than 2 steps from them, the world is extremely closed - after borderlands 2, I felt the game to be a cage compared to it. If you can get past this aspect and the lukewarm start, it may be a good game (Combat is fine, world building is awesome, it's how the game plays in the word that's not really up for my liking, have to give it another shot)

If you haven't played the old Metro, why would you buy the redux? (unless you already know you'll like it)
Pony Island for meta stuffs (like Stanley Parable, Beginner's Guide, etc)
Prototype for mindless fun. It's like the Hulk game, run, jump, fly across building while wrecking everything around you.

Yes that's true but you deserve it! Maybe I'm a bad example as normally I'm contemplating about a 4 dollar game I want for myself, mostly not buying in the end. The most I have ever spent on myself was 9 dollars on Life is Strange a long time ago. This time I've spend every penny of my steam wallet plus the steam money I've been given for Christmas. Don't know what is happening to me but I finally bought expensive games for myself, I'm still eating and in a way I'm very proud lol.

Do you realy want to know? I went completely bizar...
Well I got myself:
Everbody's gone to the rapture.
Minecraft The story mode incl. Season pass. I did not think much of this game untill I played the demo. I just had to have it.
Flyhunter
Bottle
Breached (already asked for a refund, very very bad game)
And I have a feeling I also going to get Firewatch before the sale ends.
I need help!!
What did you get?

Haha, treat yo'self, dear :D Did you get Firewatch in the end? I didn't finish it (somehow it was too pretty to play through it and be done with, if you know what I mean) but what I played I loved.
That sure is some colorful selection you made there :)
I didn't get all that much, but somehow it summed up in the end:
• The Interactive Adventures of Dog Mendonça and Pizzaboy
I was having high hopes for this one, but somehow it didn't live up to them. Beautifully drawn backgrounds with lots of details in them and nothing to click on. One or two hotspots in a scene were things are to be done, nothing else. Nothing to explore, nothing to reveal, no neat comments that fill the world with life. If I had bought in on Steam I would have refunded it, alas, I bought that one from a retailer.
• Rusty Lake: Roots
• Fox & Flock
It was nice for half an hour.
(from Steam and a retailer)
• Bastard Bonds
• Adam Wolfe All Episodes (Episodes 1-4)
• Edge of Twilight - Return to Glory
(from a Groupees bundle)
• Quest for Glory Collection
• Gabriel Knight 3: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned
(from Tremorgames)

There's one thing I didn't like in Metro 2033 - so many scripted events.

So far I only bought games for gifting and it's about time I buy something for myself. Which one?
Note: I already own the old version of Metro 2033 and haven't played it yet (to my shame). Should I play it first before considering any further purchases in this franchise? If I had any financial sense, the answer would probably be yes, it's just that the Metro Redux Bundle is extremely tempting for the price...
Update: I finally bought Metro Redux Bundle and Pony Island. Thanks for all the helpful comments!
