Thanks for the update :-D
That is a wonderful act of kindness and you should be rewarded.

If I understood correctly, any single item(even backgrounds/emoticons/crates that are worthless) would allow you to add you signature. Any 5 items would allow you to add custom text to the postcard. The items would be sold and the money used to buy a teddy bear.
If you participated and requested so,OP would also give you Marysia's address so you can send her postcards yourself.
Note that as no official confirmation appeared on Marysia's blog(I assume it is a blog),this technically could be just OP taking items while disguising as a charitable action(with the pictured bear just being something from google,a photoshop,a present to OP's little sister, the bear returned to the store next day or whatever). I'm not saying it is,I'm just saying that this lacks any sound validation, and there already have been enough cases of people disguising as charity and exploiting other people's kindness for their own gain.

Yes there surely has been several cases of exploiting other people's kindness.
Personally i wouldn't have cried over 5 lost items if i known about it (would have given a 50 even just to have 10 people sign it), but if i am correct the OP would only give the adress if you paid 5 items or anyone could get the adress? i mean would make more sense if anyone could just send a card themselve too.
Op just bought the items and from what i gathered he has not given it and i guess the girl and her family would also have other things to do so that might be the reason why it hasn't been updated, yet.
I had a disabled nephew who sadly passed away so that's why this story gets to me, and i would like to know more, and for example how her vision is, and handicap, like f.e could and does she like to play games, would a steam account with some humongous or disney games be something for her (not that i can afford it but still).
Bit surprised also not more people atleast offered to send a card apart from the spending 5 items, just a card alone could bring a smile to someone and does not cost alot.

I will try to explain everything.
Like in every year we send christmas card to Marysia she is a daughter of my friend. I meet him in every moto show and we create moto show also for charity to Marysia. why ? because we can it's nice to meet all friends with same passion and help. But now is time of postcard and i try do something new. Even if my group is less then 4 k people i try check if someone care about others or they wanna try help people. I ask if they wanna send a text for 5 items or signature for 1 item. What item ? any kind it can be item worth 0,01$ or 1 $ because remember if you get 0,01 $ from 1 milion person you got milion. and this is only example. I just wanna try give opportunitie to do something good without paying any kind of money. Just i take your unwanted stuff - sell it and buy teddy bear. even withot help from people i always send a postcard but i'm glad that i offer this to my group and even if they was 10 people is always something because - we get this teddy bear !
btw. I think marysia dont have other language on this site because even in my country is hard to find any money and even with that people are still suspects ( like me with teddy bear). Thats why was only 10 people because some people just add me and if i say about 5 items they delete me because they think that i try scam them -.-
I belive that if i help once and people will see this. We get more people who will offer help via their items and help more then once.
PS. I offer this text and signature but i also offer adress if someone wanna send a postcard from other country.
Sorry for my bad English. Please dont get a cancer if you read this. I try edit this to more fluent english when i back to home.

"Op just bought the items" - no proof whatsoever.
"Personally i wouldn't have cried over 5 lost items" - Depends on what items and how much each cent is valuable to you. Optimally,in order to fund the bear, people would gift more than 5 items as well as giving more valuable items.
"I had a disabled nephew who sadly passed away so that's why this story gets to me." - This is exactly what every charity scam plays on.
For all you know,Marysia could not even exist,or may be cooperating with the scam,or not aware there is something going on at all. I think ~2 years ago,a story like this happened in my country, where people asked for money to save a kid that legit needed it,but, the people who gathered all the funds never even spoke once with the kid's family..the kid's family didn't know anyone was gathering funds for them. When they found out, those people disappeared with all the money people donated..
I'm just saying, even when you see someone IRL with dirty clothes begging for money, you can't even be sure that he's actually poor. On the internet, this is a whole lot more complicated, and OP did not take any minimum effort to try and convince us this is a honest post.

I agree to a certain point, but to just distrust any kind of person beforehand who wants to do some charity then that would be bad too. And someone perhaps not taking much effort does also not mean it's automatically a scam.
I don't have a job and my finances are poor to say the least so each cent is valuable yet i still wouldn't have cried over it, it would be a bad place if we can't even trust anyone these days.
If he did mislead people then i believe bad karma will befall him, but if he didn't we will see when/if we see her with the bear and cards and i hope then people might still help a bit more.
Difference with your example is i think we speak about hundreds or thousands of dollar/euro's, here we are talking about some cards and a bear.
Not saying it is all legit, nor it's all a lie, for now i would keep it all in the open, but suppose he is fully honest, then that kid shouldn't pay the price for it for people preventing to send her a card or raise some money for a bear.
In all fairness even with big charities like the red cross we don't know where it all goes too either or that every cent is well spend.

"I agree to a certain point, but to just distrust any kind of person beforehand who wants to do some charity then that would be bad too. I never said OP is a scam, only that he could be (and if that matters at all,I personally believe it's more likely that this is a thread with good intentions than that it is fake).
"In all fairness even with big charities like the red cross we don't know where it all goes too either or that every cent is well spend." Very true, which is why some charities have opened up and are growing in transparency. Also,I believe that giving $100 where effectively pure $50 does reach the target and $50 is drafted in fees, payments to unnecessary people and such is much better than $100 out of $100 going to a scam.
"Difference with your example is i think we speak about hundreds or thousands of dollar/euro's, here we are talking about some cards and a bear." The amount someone scams does not making the act of scamming any more tolerable.
"It would be a bad place if we can't even trust anyone these days." Yes,it's okay to say that by default, the average person you meet does not want to murder you and eat your babies. However, that also does not mean that you should help the average person you meet if that takes away any of your assets. I believe what we're discussing here is where the line crosses - how far would you go for the common joe in trouble. I believe we can both agree it's reasonable to help someone who just fell down get back up,and it is not reasonable to give all your money to the next person that begs for it. Different people have different places where they draw the line - for example,as you line up to get into a bus,the passenger behind you struggles as he seems to be missing some change. Some people would ignore it,as it's his own problem, and they don't like throwing money around at strangers - and that's okay. Some other people would say "Here, that's enough for you to get on the bus" and pay the rest of what he needs, and that's also okay.
"That kid shouldn't pay the price for it for people preventing to send her a card or raise some money for a bear."
The problems start when something like this happens in a busy bus,you have ~10 people around the guy with no money,so it's very probable that at least one will pay for him. Then, people start abusing it,so they go in without the needed money then wait for someone to pay for them. After you see, that the same person does this every morning, you get really angry - and you don't pay for anyone anymore for the next year. So,as unfortunate as it is,it is a fact that scams do effect how much legit people in need get.

Charity is always a ,,fragile " topic and even if we hear about big company like UNICEF ( i think UNICEF from 1 $ give only 0,10 $ - rest are administration) and what they do but also together we can do same. This was my 2 charity with steam community and first with specific person. Marysia was a good idea because i know her father and i try get a some picture how she hug a bear or something like that. This can help me to get a clean reputation and maybe more people join for this It's only steam items and i NEVER ask for item what you need to give.
Maybe you dont know me but i do one of te biggest guide about scammers http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=230661321 ( more the 100 k people see it) and think please if i will scam someone on any method even this with charity. I will be the bigest know for everyone scammer. Really i have a nice work and dont need a money and now when i have broken leg i have some time to prepare everything and prepare people for stuff like this. I belive that if i get some proof and shows that we rally help wwill increase people who start help.
Why Teddy Bear not money ? Because is easy to show a proof that we do something. With money is harder because i need to find a foundation or page where i put this money and people will be wanna get proof. I know one page in my country who show where money was spend
but still need sell a item that i get for help with scammers.
Also i do this for free because i have some free time and i sit more then i walk now ( with my leg but when i go back to work i will need to find someone who take all this responsibilities and get any % from it because it's a lot of work to prepare everything and finish it and people will still dont belive where money go -.-
It's hard work with many pesimist people. words like:
"Op just bought the items" - no proof whatsoever.
Just take all my optimist and wanna drop all things with charity. And if you wanna speak about Marysia just add me and we speak.

it is because there are alot of scammers even here on the forum, even last week there was this guy trying in the name of charity, he did alot of namecalling in the end and even removed everyone who joined the group, don't take it too personally please.
and i will join you too after i seen the picture and sometimes a bear or a card can just bring as much joy to a child as something that would cost alot.
don't be put off by it.

This is the best topic I've seen on this forum, ever. I don't know the back story, but cheers to OP and all who donated to this cause. What a wonderful thing. Merry Season/Holiday/Whatever-you-do-or-don't-celebrate and have a wonderful New Year!

Thank you for taking your time to send me a message on steam and showing a picture that you have updated in your OP.
It's bad though it left you a bad taste while you only tried doing a good deed.
If whenever you decide to do something like that again (or maybe next year again) i will definitely help, but i also hope my financial situation becomes more stable so i could do a more direct donation, i won't forget about Marysia and keep her in mind.
That bear sure was even bigger then i expected it to be on the first picture, i just hope she gives it alot of hugs and made her happy.
