There is a reason why everyone has a Logitech mouse ... my MX 518 is still working without any problems since December 2005 :)
That said I'm not a big fan of wireless controllers so I can't really give any advices. I just don't like to recharge them all the time ... I use a regular mouse for my Netbook as well.

I am currently playing on a MX 518 as well actually (Mostly because I ripped off the buttons on my Steelseries MMO mouse, but that's a whole other story), but when you've been playing with 3200 DPI and higher, dropping down to 1500 or whatever that mouse has, the MX feels so slow!
That said, I want a cool looking mouse, that not just everybody has, not the R.A.T though.

I'm still using the Logitech G7 after many years and I love it. You will then understand why I'd recommend getting one of the wireless mice from Logitech. The Logitech G700 doesn't look too bad, and the reviews agree that it's one awesome mouse regardless of its high price.
There aren't many gaming wireless mouse besides that. You could consider the Microsoft SideWinder X8, but its battery life is abysmal at <30 hours. The again, the battery life of these gaming mice (Logitech G700, Microsoft X8 and Razer Mamba). Also, like the Gigabyte M8600, the receiver is also the charger unless you're planning on carrying batteries around.
For a laptop, I think it'd be best to get a wired gaming mouse because the current selection is way too small and too expensive.

Logitech MX Revolution has been working really good for about 3yrs now. Along with a program that can have you mapping each buttons individual to do whatever you want made it even greater. AS FOR BATTERIES, there are none! comes with a charger stand! Battery life is very good and it only needs about 30min charge until its ready to go for at least 2 days.

if you really HAVE to get a wireless mouse, do get a logitech one. i have only had bad experiences with wireless mice though. it's not 100% responsive, and when the battery runs out in the middle of a clanwar or something like that, you're f*ed.
some of the logitech wireless mice have a cable that work both as a data transfer cable and a charging cord, so you could choose at any time whether or not to play wireless

I've searched the internet thin, and the Logitech G7 or performance MX seems the best choices. Such a shame the M8600 doesn't have a mini-receiver, it looks beast!
As I said it doesn't have to be a gaming mouse specific, just needs to look cool!
I'm gonna go pitch and idea to Steelseries or something lol

I have the Kone+ so I have no personal experience with the Pyra, but I hear that it's not too shabby.

Bought this mouse 3 years ago http://www.logitech.com/mice-pointers/mice/devices/5845
Works better than most gaming mice, hase "usefull" buttons instead of a few dozen useless ones and does the job.
I bought it for my old uni couse (Coputer Science with Game Design) when I needed a precision artists mouse... found that it was more than responsive enough for gaming. Bought 1 more since then and will continue too so long as they are available.

Greetings everybody!
I am going to boarding school next year, and bought a laptop for the purpose.
So I am looking for a cool wireless mouse, to go with it.
Currently I've been looking ALL over the internet for cool wireless mice's, I fell
in love with the M8600 mouse from Gigabyte: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3777#kf
But sadly the docking station serves as the wireless receiver, making it very unhandy to drag around for class :(
I might end up with a Logitech G700, despite me not wanting a Razer/Steelseries/Cyborg/Logitech mouse (because everyone
has such)... So... Do you guys know of any cool wireless mice's, with features such as:
Mini-receiver / bluetooth
Re-chargeable batteries
No small ones (Like Roccat Pyra)
Good DPI (at least 1600-2000)
Good polling (2.4Ghz)
Cool design (LED lights would be nice!)
*No Razer/Logitech!
So, bring on fourth them cool mice's, doesn't have to be gaming mice's with thousands of buttons, just look looking wireless ones!
