I usually play for 30m - 1h because my eyes get tired but if the game manages to catch me I can play for hours without realizing

Because your eyes get tired? Do your eyes feel slightly dry and burney? Because then its the light and you should rather play with the room's light on, your eyes won't get sore then. (Plus its good for your eyes health as staring into a point of light while you're surrounded by darkness is really bad for you XD)

It depends on the game. If it's a game with levels I play a few levels or sometimes just one. If it's something story-driven, I play for a longer time.

First type of game I usually play during week after work and second one at the weekend.

i can't play in short bursts, i feel no enjoyment. if i don't have several hours to dedicate, i'd rather not play anything (like i've been doing for 2 months).

I usually feel the same for long, story-driven games, but now when I have holidays I don't feel the urge to play anything even though I have all the time in the world to play..

Both actually some games I do for short duration (<30min : 2 hrs, games with daily stuff or games I'm planning on 100% but in a long period) and others (usually the game I'm focused on 100% very soon, or a game new to me that really captured my interest and attention) long duration.

For puzzles, more breaks in between and maybe 3 hours max. For everything else, 3-7 hours and a few breaks to stretch.

Depends. If I really can’t find the time but need a break from whatever I’m doing, 30 mins.
If I can, 1-3h.

It depends on the game and my mood.
I prefer to spend a few hours at a time, and on something with either a story or some kind of escalating progression loop (my fave being stuff where you build bases/homes/outposts, like Space Engineers, Terraria, etc). Though when I should be doing something productive and I get the urge to procrastinate, shorter bursts of other kinds of game work well, like Droplitz, Death's Gambit, Card City Nights.

I really liked Rain World but could only really play it for shorter bursts while I was learning the system, then upgraded to longer sessions. Other games like XCom start out with longer sessions while I lovingly mash my crews and bases into place, but then fizzle into short bursts to do a mission or two once the gameplay loop grind starts to weigh on me.

Multiplayer-centric games are pretty much random. I can burn hours if the mood strikes me, or just one or two matches if just for daily rewards or if I have a terrible run of luck with the matchmaker/attitudes/etc.

if I have the free time even 10-12 hours is no problem (single player games only, multiplayer games make me ragequit eventually after 5 hours)

I play for 30 mins to 1 hr depending on the game, but some rpg's I can play for 5+ hours and not even realize where the time went.

I usually have one game, usually an RPG, that I'll play for long durations, and then take breaks and play shorter games so I don't burn out.

↑ This :) I so do that, in between big ass games I will play a few short games to feel like I've accomplished something quickly and then get back to a huge ass game XD

Mine is more 30 minutes to 2 hours generally, if I'm playing a very immersive experience I can get lost in it and play 2 hours, if I'm playing in an open world and just doing things in the world to have it done (get it marked off on my checklist) I tend to play 30 minutes to 1 hour, generally.

I had the same problem before.
A solution is limiting the number of games installed at the same time.
As soon as you finish one, you can install another one.

Now, i tend to play long sessions of 2-3 games until finished. Well, some games can't be finished ofc.

depends on the day and game , generally speaking i prefer to play for many hours on end but i can only do that during the weekends . during the week it depends on the night it could be anywhere from 1-4 hours or so but i prefer rpgs so it makes it hard to even touch them mid-week due to needing to sleep for work and if i do game i only have a possible window from 1am-6am anyway (i work 2nd shift).

Lol, same here :D I only ever go outside if I need to attend some matters, I just really like being alone. I usually play anywhere from 5 to 12 hours a day.

Wow, impressive. I haven't finished even one year in that game in the span of... well, a year :D

Regardless, I also play games a shitload. I currently have a summer break from uni, no job as of yet and I have a load of free time since I specifically dedicated time to unwind. So now it's not pretty common to play games like 7-8 hours per day and running errands whenever necessary.
Doesn't really impede on my normal life. Just that I spend a shitload of time on my PC since it's a good way to spend time.

It took me 20-30 hours of trying and bailing to really make it click, it definitely sat untouched in my library for awhile. I came back about six months after initially trying it out, and was finally hooked. It's an incredibly deep game, and designed for long replayability. If you are honestly looking for something to sink your time into, it doesn't get much better than this. Just look at my play hours. Beyond vanilla, there's also a massive mod community. I've put probably 1,000 hours into the Game of Thrones mod alone.

It's a steep learning curve, but truly that's a big part of the fun. It's a game that makes you enjoy failing.

but im sure there is a reason i only put 22 hours into crusader kings im assuming. i probably didnt like it i bet

And I'm assuming you have plenty of free time to give it another shot. If you're really looking for a different, deeper gaming experience, check it out.

I often need a break after an hour or so. I have trouble motivating myself to longer sessions. There are games, however, that are so good that I can actually play them for 5 hours straight, with a few breaks for smoking. Bloodstained was such a game, for example.

I find that I prefer to play games where I can put a chunk of time into it to get into the flow of it. Especially so with games where saves are at a premium or to get to a certain phase of the game. Also, in situations where there are quite a lot of combos to learn and get used to. If I have say an hour block to play games, I will tend to play those games where I can drop in and play straight away. Horses for courses I suppose.

I'll just skip playing (or play something more "casual") if I know I don't have at least 1 hour.

When I was young I could play all day and night. Now that I'm older with job, wife, house, there is not much time, so I prefer games I can pick up and play for a few minutes at a time without worrying about interruptions ruining it.

Really depends on my mood. Like with hogs I will make sure to finish that in 1 session but of course if its draining my energy I will take a little break in between bits. However overall yeah I would probably say long spurts since I do like to typically do 1 story and 1 game so most of my time isnt split up in the end

I usually play in short spurts because I want the game to last longer lol. Yeah that's my weird mentality.

I can play for long hours without being tired, my longest playing session was 16 hours. (or more, I don't remember)
I was stressed because of a job and when I quit, I played Skyrim nonstop. Finished the entire game in one month (base game and expansions, lvl 300+).

Somehow, I find that quite heartwarming. I can imagine you being like: "Hell yeah, freedom!" and crawling into your room and staying there until you feel like coming out again :)
I had a similar situation with my previous job, it was really draining me and when I quit, I was so damn happy!

It's bad that some ppl think we are slaves. I liked my job as a teacher, but overwork is bad for your body and mind.

When I quit I was in a bad mood actually. =]
Playing was like forgetting my life and living another one.

Ah, sorry to hear that your mood didn't improve much when you left your job. But yes, RPG games are perfect for forgetting the stressful reality and immersing ourselves in another living, breathing world :)

It really depends on the game as well as the platform. I can easily get those 5+ hours on a 3DS or Switch, I'm sure I've gotten it on other consoles or handhelds too, but on the computer I seldom push through this long. Usually cause I have a potato so it doesn't run much that's too exciting. It's still possible but a lot less likely since I prefer to keep my comp running with messengers, internet etc, so if I wanna game while I'm at it, I outsource that XD But I also have phases where I just do "dailies" in games that operate as such and then leave it be.
