He's been really inactive for a while, though.

Well, watching a Dota Stream can be usefull to see some "tricks", like stacking the ancients and finding creep pulling routes, etc...

Its mostly for the caster, there are some really good casters that I'd watch them play anything.

Some games are pretty boring to watch but depending on the game and the caster it can actually be great fun. I always try to talk to the people in the chat of my stream and it's fun to get that interaction. I also get people all the time saying they've learned little tricks or gameplay tips from watching, so it can be really helpful for a lot of people too.
If you went into a stream of a completely silent and/or prick of a person playing something boring to watch, I could see why you'd think it was stupid. If you find the right casters though it can be a lot of fun.

I often watch the DormGaming channel, mark usually plays a lot of stuff and is very talkative, eventually inviting viewers to skype calls.
the lesser known are xeonsteel (seems not to be streaming a lot atm), shinblindrezo (mostly sundays talking about anime) and romscout (plays a lot of castlevania sotn on speedruns). My favourite streamer is actually poxnor, but not so much now that he streams late at night and only FF saga

I like to watch Liteyear, Meat_Jesus, Gabrahamsandwich. They're good casters, really. It's always fun to chat with em.

The ever-adorable and amusing Aria. She's pretty well known and absolutely amazing.
Lovely and hilarious friend of mine who's stream I occasionally appear on via Skype call, Fat Jesus ("FJ"). Really laid back guy, definitely not for everyone but he and all his/my friends are really awesome people.
And here's the channel shared between my boyfriend and I. We stream every day (usually at weird hours - almost always during the night/early morning if you're American) with both of us doing the audio commentary. Lots of insanity, a very angry British lady (I don't know who that would be...), BDSM, and excessive usage of the word "cunt".

Anything by The Creatures :p (they're mostly YouTube though, but they do stream somtimes)

Lately I've been watching lots of streams on twitch and I'm looking to check out other good casters. So if you do have twitch streams you watch, list them here with what is usually casted on said stream!
Cosmo Wright - Cosmo speedruns Wind Waker and Banjo Kaziooe. He've hold the Wind Waker for a while, I think he recently lost it
Thenewgeezer - He plays various I wanna be the guy fanmade games, probably have completed hundreds of those.
Liteyear - Plays some oldschool games, JRPGs and sometimes speedruns Super Meat Boy.
Chaide - Also plays old games, sometimes newer games. Pretty chill dude.
Michael_1985 - Streams newer games (he've just completed sleeping dogs lately) Really good caster, with occasional spot-on rants about the current state of the videogame industry. Bonus points for the really awesome german accent.
