Great!
Is this region locked or limited to prime members?

US only which means you need to use a US address. You don't need a valid credit card, you can use one from the list below:

US is not required, simply change the Region on Amazon Underground to United States before download Hay Day.

It took me a couple days to receive the credit and it is good for 30 days. I didn't have to play the game, just "buy" it.
Here's what they sent me: "Your $10 Amazon Appstore credit has been added to your account and will expire in 30 days. This credit is usable towards your next purchase of an app, game, or in-app purchase sold by Amazon.com"

"customers who download Hay Day from Amazon Appstore between August 1, 2016 and August 31, 2016"
Probably because the END DATE to download is Aug. 31. and the credit is valid 30 days FROM the date of purchase/download... Sept. 30th is the max that credit could be valid, since it expires after 30 days.

Yeah, 30 days from the moment you download it... :)

That warning is especially notable, seeing as you CAN'T disable 1-click purchasing for digital goods (including apps). It's.. there's certainly things that Amazon does that seem ridiculously skeevy, no matter how good their customer support can be [though, my last interaction with their support was awful, so.. I don't even know anymore.]
Note: 1-Click ordering is always enabled for digital video, Kindle books, MP3s, and other digital purchases.
Steam/Uplay/Origin/GOG/etc purchases seem to be the only digital products that get an exception made for them (though they're also classified under PC games, rather than digital products- mp3 files, for example, are classified under Digital Music.)
I'd say "any digital product that's not primarily handled by another distributor" is the basis, but audible files also are one-click-mandatory. As always for Amazon's interface, it's all quite awkward. :/

Yeah, I 'accidentally' bought Trebuchet thinking that it would just add it to cart since I thought I had 1-click purchases disabled site-wide. Apparently not. It's okay though, I kind of wanted it after seeing it on sale on Steam last week and to be honest the Steam version does not appear to adds any extras or features and this is the sort of game that I think I'd rather play on a tablet. As far as the game goes I think it is unique and has good strategic depth, much like chess. I have enjoyed it. I think it could use more variation with some more board sizes and shapes (coming 'soon'?), but I think it is a solid game.

I accidentally bought an app (damned 1-click) and I got a refund (I was lucky enough to find a good girl in their support, they are not supposed to do that)

They are aware that their system can force people to make accidental purchases. I have clicked the button a few times over the years by mistake and never had a problem refunding the order. They can remove the content from your device easily as well in this case.

Blast, that would have been nice if not locked to app store, I could have gotten Doom on PSN with another $8

This isn't off-topic, it should be in the deals section. :-)

The greed is strong with this one but I must resist. I'm tempted to get Vice City or Terraria but I don't want go through the hassle of setting up an US Amazon account. Let's be honest I haven't even finished San Andreas on my phone yet and hardly played Castle of Illusion, Duck Tales or Scribblenauts Remix and playing Terraria is way more comfy on PC anyway. Mainly posting this because once I've said it there's no more changing my mind :D

Yep, you can got it on your PC, but download from the app is required on your device (if you are not on USA, change region to United States before do it) to be credited.
