They aren't supposed to do region locked games, but some people don't want to learn the site rules, or just don't care. Unfortunately, all you can do is wait 7 days then mark 'Not Received'.

You're just going to need to wait the seven days and mark the gift as non-received. They may try to send you the gift, but you won't be able to activate it. Just decline the gift and mark as not received when you can.

Contact the gifter and explain the situation. It may be that they would be prepared to trade for a region unlocked version of the game to give you.
If not, as others have said, wait 7 days and mark as "not received".

The site rules state that the games should be region free and available to everyone. But people still do it. At the end of the day however the rules are what will be enforced. Just contact the contributor and see what they can offer. If nothing, then mark it as not received after 7 days. DO NOT try to re-gift it and mark as received.

Hmm... new Steam region restrictions do mean a problem for such websites. If region-locked copies are allowed to be gifted, I guess a good solution would be for SG to add a required field which marks region restrictions, if any. If gift submitter marks it wrong, penalize.

Since it is new, there may be something also "new" or those that are region locked and want to giveaway still.. Everyone will have to wait. Rules cannot be changed in one day....

While I agree that using region locked games shouldn't be allowed for obvious reasons, what can we do if steam only allws us to buy region locked games? Do we have to lurk though 3rd party sites looking for internationally accepted keys or trade with other steam users?

I just got back home and i log in to the site and i saw a CAT!!! I thought at first it was an add but then i saw that i have won! I still didn't get any steam friend request or any email and i thought that maybe tomorow i get one but i saw the description of the gift.
