Lost Planet 2 is very Japanese-like, with linear levels that I found quite irritating at times :S The co-op could give some re-play value though.

Dead Rising 2 has thousands of zombies on screen at any given time and a whole city to explore. This is my choice ^^

Dead Rising, because... everyone loves zombies! Especially when there is an army of zombies and lots of weapons to kill them

Personally, I enjoyed Lost Planet 2 more than Dead Rising 2, but then again it all depends on whether you play with friends or not, 'cause then you can provide your own entertainment.

Dead Rising, very funny gameplay, thousands of zombies, awesome cooperative mode, funny competitive modes, wacky weapons... etc etc

Dead Rising 2 is probably my favorite.

Dead Rising is boring imo.
Lost Planet 2 is short, but better. And it's very fun in coop.

depends, if you have more than 1 friend that is WILLING to play with you, pick LP 2. Singleplayer is boring as hell

If you are solo, pick dead rising 2 and theres quite handy of mods lying around on forums the only thing i dont like its gfwl for both games
