I put this in the off-topic section because obviously this site is about PC gaming. But since we are all gamers...anyone into retro stuff (emulators on PC aside).. might be into this. The console arrives on the 11th November and will come with 30 pre-loaded titles.

''Here's what Nintendo of America President and COO Reggie Fils-Aime had to say:
We wanted to give fans of all ages the opportunity to revisit Nintendo's original system and rediscover why they fell in love with Nintendo in the first place. The Nintendo Entertainment System: NES Classic Edition is ideal for anyone who remembers playing the NES, or who wants to pass on those nostalgic memories to the next generation of gamers.''

Some points that stand out:
-Price: $59.99.
-NES pad (Guessing the player2 one) will be sold separately for $9.99
-Has 30 great games (list is in the link above)
-Connects to your TV via HDMI
-Can't use your original NES carts with the console - something even the most basic "Famiclone" offers - and there doesn't seem to be any means of getting new games onto it.
-"Note that an AC adapter for the USB cable is required to play the system but is not included in the packaging."...what-didn't they learn anything from not putting a charger with the 3DS? /facepalm

also the controllers seem to be some weird propietary interface, which is nice, you know could been usb or firewire or anything to give us the change to use it on a PC, nope, this is exactly whats wrong with nintendo, they just dont care about the world, they do things by their own way and thats why they are failing.

And dont mention Pokemon GO, pokemon GO was made from the ground up by an american dev that was part of Google, nope Nintendo is as blind as always.

It's neat, but not much else. Considering it's directly from Nintendo, I might get it as it's bound to be quality unlike many other third-party NES things. Would of been MUCH nicer if the NES controllers were USB though, but at least you can these with the Wii U.

It's nice to give Joe Public a taste of NES, but I think it's stupid to not ship this with wireless controllers, and making the connection a custom one means that standard NES wireless controllers can't be used.

Unless there is a patent/ownership rights thing by Nintendo for over 30years now, roms of these official games are still illegal.
What Nintendo are trying to sell here is nostalgia to old gamers who played these in the 80s and 90s. It's really too bad it's limited to these games & I wish they added some light gun games like duck hunt or wild gunman (yes even for non CRT screens)-as well as the other megaman games, rad racer (with 3d glasses) and ninja turtles.

WHY NOT ADD THE WHOLE NES LIBRARY!!!! IT'S NOT THAT BIG (in memory)!!! (That's what she said).

Some will say it's better than nothing..but at this price...I dunno..I guess it's only good for the HDMI connection and linking to your TV.
What's up with Nintendo not adding an AC adapter AGAIN? Weirdos.

They'll probably do a SNES version later.

Thanks for the replies everyone-I'm closing this thread.
