I came across a few heavily discounted Steam bundles from Ukraine developer/publisher "Whale Rock Games" (most known for "We are the Dwarves" I think):

The first bundle includes 7 early-access games (4 of which are also included in the third bundle). I don't know if there are any hidden gems in here?

What do you think of White Rock Games bundles?

They have them on sale almost constantly at/around 95%. Plus if somebody wants to sell me cheap games constantly as and their best advertisement is "it's a great deal" then I immediately doubt the games' quality.

I ❤️ Brotato but not these games.
Most of these games are in early access limbo forever.

the pricing isn't even really a deal, they are almost all perpetually super high discounts at HB, We Are the Dwarves for example has been 27 cents on HB for a long time in the past, it seems they fiddled with base price so its 61 cents now... but you can get time lock, deployment and we are the dwarves for 81 cents... that "sale" has been live for months, if not closing into a year.

WRG is clearly violating the terms of being a dev with games for sale on steam by offering perpetually lower prices elsewhere so I would not support them at all.

Ah Whale Rock Games.. this is perfect example of starting out okay with We Are The Dwarves and even Deployment and then deep diving into a big pile of crap. I can't even remember all the details on everything, it's been so long. Please keep in mind when reading that some of these details maybe off as it's been awhile, but you should be able to find stuff about it online. If I remember correctly most reviews for almost all of the other games are fake/bought/bot generated, at least that was how the majority of them started out and then they got attention and people started playing them and real people started reviewing them as well. We Are The Dwarves and Deployment have legit reviews and people did actually like the games, but they stopped putting in real developement time into them if I remember correctly. I think then they started getting the harvested review treatment as well later on. With regards to the actual games the majority of them are just the same game with a different name and a few different slight changes and some seem a demos. I wouldn't even pay a buck for all of them, but that's just me.

Example... It's basically a demo to show off an engine lol

Oh look it's the same thing lol

Just in case you didn't have enough of it the first two times. Something never leaving EA.

Same game but one is an EA version that's never coming out of EA and the other one was released after. lol

You end up in this game? lol

If you actually wanted to get any of their games to play, We are the Dwarves and Deployment are the only two that may be worth considering. You may want to watch some videos on those though as even these seem like they aren't worth it.

Firelight Fantasy: Vengeance - a game about spectacular sword battles from the third person.

Totally not created by AI.

It's just poor english, AI wouldn't write it like that. Plus the game came out in january 2022, and chatgpt came out in november 2022.

When I first got into buying games on Fanatical, I bought "The Divine Invasion" in make-your-own-bundle because I saw it had relatively good review score on Steam (83% of 224 reviews). Later I found out that most of those reviews were probably bought and the game is utter trash.

Now I keep it visible in my library to remind me not to ever buy anything from Whale Rock Games ever again.
