A lot of you still don't seem to know that the report button on profiles, while it sends a report, isn't one moderators can see. We never got a way to access the reports themselves, so there's now 25,000 reports sitting in a queue we can't deal with. If you have a user report to make and don't use Steamgifts Plus, please simply use support (which, by the way, has currently 1,100 tickets in it itself).

Yay for support members, who fight the windmills on a daily basis.

Your working conditions are appalling. You should form a union.

I realize this is more cg's purview than yours, but might I suggest making that a little clearer than it currently is? This thread is certainly a good start, but I'm sure a majority of users will never see it, and the new support ticket page says the following in scary red letters: "Reporting Users: If you're reporting a user, please do not use support. Instead, click the Report User button which is located on their profile." I imagine it would probably be pretty easy for CG to simply remove that warning and temporarily comment out the code for the report button on profiles?

Also: yeah, what the people above said. Those are some ridiculous numbers, thanks for putting up with all that silliness on our behalf.

Twenty. Five. Thousands...

So I assume cg is going to answer them all?

hmm, yes im sure a service that has 20m-25m estimated actual users, 40m stated users, doesnt get 25k support requests.

I'm pretty sure that fifty millions is the number of actual active accounts.

Yeah, and I bet half of that used to be TF2 idle accounts, there were 'farms' with thousands of them.

1,100 sounds crazy enough on its own. Good luck to the mods.
For the lazier people, SteamGifts+ does an excellent job since it automatically turns the user reports (from pressing the report button) into support threads. At least it used to, I don't think this has changed.

Is this just for user profiles, or does it apply to the "report" button on giveaways too?

We can see the report on giveaways. But it might be best to use support sometimes, since if the giveaway gets closed, its moved into the closed queue which has thousands of false reports. Basically, it gets lost once the giveaway closes.

Good to know. I've only used it once, for a GA that said in the description that it was an origin key, so probably not that big a deal.

Does this also apply to the report button on giveaways too?

But I seem to get replies from support when I use the report on profile O_O

Do you use Steamgifts Plus?

And yeah, the giveaway report button works and we can see the results. Full disclaimer: I'm not sure how often any of the mods actually uses that one though. It's absolutely bloody filled with false reports. Practically every single public giveaway ever gets multiple reports (we really need to see who the reports COME from, so we can ignore those ones). I stopped using that a while ago, just rely on scrolling through the list myself for anything that seems off.

Does this apply to also support tickets sent by "Submit a question" and placing it in other category? I have 3 weeks open a ticket there (regarding steamtrades) so I'd like to know if it's being looked and it only takes time or no one can actualy see it and I just should resubmit it (if yes, how? )

If you can see it under support, so can support. If you have red button on a giveaway or user profile with 'reported (cancel)' or something along those lines, they can't.

Edit: not sure about the button on giveaways. But I assume it works similar.

We can see reported giveaways, but basically every single giveaway is reported, moreso if you're a new gifter, so there's so many false reports I'm not sure if any of the moderators actually look at that section. I stopped a long time ago, focused on just dealing with what I saw.

Apologies for Necro but I simply don't understand where to report people now.

I'm pretty if you use SG+, it converts the broken button to a working support ticket. The button is just broken for the non SG+ users. (?)
