In a fight, a lion would beat a tiger in 8/10 cases, armor or not. Lions are natural born fighters. All they do all day (when not sleeping or eating) is fight with other lions to protect their pride(the females and the right to mate with them). They don't hunt, like tigers do, unless in exceptional cases when they're without a pride and need to survive. Lionesses do most of the hunting in their species. Plus, the African Lion is a little bit smaller than the Bengal tiger with a shorter body, therefore it's faster and more agile And with the added fighting experience bonus (since defenseless prey is the only things tigers ever kill) it's not even a contest.

Nothing beats the Armless Tigerman although he is no animal .... other than that I would probably bet my money on ... hm .... the armored tiger just because lions are really lazy animals
