There was a big comment explaining in detail but it failed to submit becase sg 404'd.
In short: 1) create forum thread if you want to give away.
2) SG is already under heavy load, lots of 0 CV entries wouyld make it worse.
3) It would probably make all "legit" giveaways count as 0 CV too.

You can't get your free copy of X game, because people grab extra copy to make a giveaway. This is cancer, and we have to fight with it.

BTW SpaceChem is blocked due to massive giving away, but why DLC for it is blocked too?

Then why allow any Dead Island Epidemic dlc giveaways? Every single one of those people make are for free beta passes too.

Because it's not my decision to make. I don't know the logic behind it. I haven't even asked. However, I'd remove those and a few other things that basically aren't ever given away and just get selected by people trying to submit free stuff. You know, if it was my decision.

They didn't. I've already deleted one giveaway for it that was actually Dino D-Day, though. While Orion went cheap during the sale and there have been a lot of legitimate giveaways for it recently, I strongly suspect that some of the new ones that have popped up are actually these free keys and I'm trying to give people fair warning, because when I have to come behind them and clean up the mess they made trying to do giveaways with free stuff, I'm liable to suspend them for it.

Yep. Fight the cancer! Btw very well written and friendly as well. People who lack the common sense don't deserve it delivered so friendly though. Just my opinion.

It stands to reason, really. But there are always going to be people who try to exploit the system.
Personally I have more problem with people creating giveaways with games they were gifted here. I've already seen two people do it in the past 24 hours. Talk about taking advantage of someone's kindness! -.-

Dead Island Epidemic. Seriously, I'm just tired of reporting that shit.
The same happened with Imagine Me recently, and every "free key giveaway" for that matter.

There has never once been a legit DIE giveaway here as far as I can tell. The only people marking them received also don't know what they are doing.

And then what? They get banned for not activating their wins at the end. :P

Speaking of games that should probably be removed from the giveaway creation list, how about EVE Online? It's not possible to buy this as a gift, and when it was possible they didn't work. :)

*giving things away and expecting to gain something in exchange when people could easily get the game themselves for free.
Fixed.

This is just a friendly reminder that when games are removed from the giveaway creation list due to being given away in huge numbers, such as millions of keys being given away as pointed out in this thread, it's because they're not allowed to be given away here. Frankly, it should be common sense that trying to abuse a promotion for personal gain isn't something we're going to be on board with, and common decency should mean one wouldn't try in the first place.
If, however, someone were to try and bypass this by trying to give away, oh, say Dino D-Day, as another title, let's just say Orion: Dino Horde, then the giveaway would be deleted and the creator may very well be suspended for misleading giveaways.
You know, just a reminder . . .
