I don't get games only for achievements, but when they have them, I love to get them! Still, there are some that I doubt I'll ever accomplish. I'll list them from the games I've beaten.
Aqua Kitty - Milk Mine Defender: Fantastic game that is, IMO, completely fair in its difficulty. But I'm nowhere near good enough to get the Arcade mode achievements. Getting through the entire game without dying is very hard. =P
DRAGON: A Game About A Dragon: Another awesome game, but two of the achievements seem to be broken. =(
EDGE: Again, really good, but I'm not skilled enough to get all levels S-ranked.
Pixel Puzzles: UndeadZ: I wouldn't mind grinding out zombie kills for an hour and forty-five minutes without dying, except for one small catch. ...There isn't a pause button. Not being able to take a break is a deal-breaker for me. So screw that.
The Stanley Parable: See posts in the thread before mine.
VVVVVV: Excellent as it is, I'm nowhere near good enough to get most of the achievements in this game.
Most other games that I haven't gotten all the achievements in are ones I plan to keep trying, so that oughta cover it for now. =3

Aqua Kitty! haha. Glad someone else looks at those achievements and thinks, "yeah it's probably not happening".
Comment has been collapsed.
Indeed! XD I think they're perfectly doable for people willing to put tons of hours into honing their skills for it, but I dunno if I'd ever get there. ^_^;

Yup, I'll only commit those kind of hours to genres I genuinely enjoy. Bullet hell is more like a 10 minute diversion for me, not a way of life, as it is for some people.

I'm usually not one for them, but I really love Aqua Kitty. =3 Just don't think I'm capable of it within any sane kind of timeframe. XD

Regarding Pixel Puzzles: UndeadZ, I ground that out for an hour, thought I was done and quit. Didn't realise there was another achievement for 5000 menu zombies taking another 45 minutes or so and the game doesn't keep track of the count between sessions. My puzzles are also unlocked out of order because the Steam community went down while I was playing, the game doesn't retroactively unlock achievements, and I had to do several of them again. Fuck that game.

In spite of writing to support, I will never get two of the achievements in Pac-man 256 because I've already earned them but the game won't give them to me.
High Rise Heroes: 35/36. Can't get the last one (3 stars in every level) because the distribution of tiles and the time limit make it impossible to get three stars on one particular level.
Swaperoo: 22/23. I can't beat hard mode.
Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist: (4/6) The scene where you have to collect the last coin is just too dark. I can't see it and you have to be standing right on top of it (before the platform collapses) to actually click on it.
So I'm at 1,124 achievements, 47 perfect games and 51% completion. Oh well.
UPDATE: I was considering adding "Swapperoo" to the list, but I got the final achievement, bringing my total to 48 perfect games. Wahoo!

Portal 2, Saints Row series, basically anything that involves having "friends".

I try to get all achievements on casual games, but some of them have a few really hard achievements.
Faerie Solitaire - I'm only missing 3 achievements. To get them I need to keep playing until I find the 3 eggs I'm missing and then raise the pets, but since it's completely random which egg you get it's going to take ages. I have given up on that for now.
Season Match 2 - The King of Accuracy! achievement is almost impossible to get. You need to get the Sharpshooter trophy in all mini games and there are 2 that are incredibly difficult. Only the snowflake mini game remains, which is almost impossible unless I make my mouse move really fast and I manage to click accurately at the center of the snowflakes.

I think a lot of people have problems with the Faerie Solitaire ones. I got lucky and found the eggs I needed relatively quickly, but yeah, all I can say is that I wish you the best of fortune. x_X

Super Meat Boy absolutely fucking killed me, I've never worked so hard for something and never got it. Currently standing at 44/48 achievements, still have to complete all of Cotton Alley, Dark Rapture and Dark The End without dying, I also have 95 hours.

Deponia 4: Doomsday. No way I'm gonna spend over 4 hours repeating the same task over and over for one achievement.
Anything with multiplayer achievements.
I did not give up on 99%ing Pillars of Eternity (only original crowdfund backers can 100% it).

Those crowdfund/pre-order achievements are pretty lame. They'd never prevent me from buying a game, but they shouldn't really exist in my opinion.

The Jackbox Party Pack 2 - I don't have 5/6/8 other people to play with.
Pixel Puzzles Ultimate - I'm not spending $200+ on DLC. I've gotten almost every achievement I can get (minus ~6) and only at 16%...
Alpha Runner - I'm (embarassingly) not good enough at the game to get a score of 200. I've played for 10 hours and the best I've gotten was around 90, which was incredibly good for myself. That feeling when you're a big noob. ;_;

Out of curiosity, what 6 are you missing from PPU? =P
Comment has been collapsed.
They were use hints, complete a challenge and use an ultimate piece. Now the only ones I have left are the horse DLC puzzle & finishing 1/2 of a Da Vinci puzzle.
Comment has been collapsed.
Ah, I haven't used any hints yet myself. I don't like to; takes the fun out of puzzles IMO. I'll probably go back to one I've beaten already just for that. XD
The horse puzzle was the first I finished, but boy is it a doozy. Took me a while! Best of luck whenever you decide to attempt it. =)

I used the hints on the most recent challenge, since that was more painful on the eyes than fun tbh. :P But I agree, I'd put off completing the hint achievements for so long bc there was no need to use them and finally said what the heck might as well....only to have the store open and I wasted all my gold pieces. ;_; Ohh well. And thank you!

From the good games I tried to 100%, only:
Alan Wake (50/67 (75%)
Enslaved (40/58 - 69%)
l4d2 - (69/70 - 99%) (DAMN free weekend cheevo...
Ori and the blind forest def edition - 56/57 (98%
Valdis story - 74/77 - 96%
Ys Origin - 25/46 - 55% -
The cheevo i'm proudest of is Glutton for Punishment from origin... Think it was the hardest ever... hardest even from the glitched cheevos

I'll keep trying, but I doubt I'll get those last two achievements.

I love (x1000) DISHONORED. But heck, the achievements for Dunwall City Trials DLC almost make me hate Corvo ...

Used to aim for 100% complete in any game i played with the exception of multiplayer achievements in games like Tomb Raider/Bioshock 2 etc. But looking through my games i remebered what killed the hunt for me.
Killing Floor: 96 of 285 (34%) achievements earned
Keep in mind i played a lot on my friends account before getting the game myself.. But i don't think i will ever be arsed to get the remaining ones in this game.
Deadlight: Tales Of Glory Finish the Nightmare mode
Nightmare mode is pretty much if you die you have to restart the chapter. That + wonky controlls on PC and the fact that you have to finish the game in 1 sitting made me not even want to try it. I think it took me 3-4 hours to finish the game normaly and i just don't have the time/patience for playing the same game like that for several hours just for an achievement.
Counter-Strike: Source: 92 of 147 (63%) Achievements Earned:
I'm not THAT far off even if i have 4xx hours played but i moved on to CS-GO and have no reason to go back. And i need severela thousand kills i guess to get the achievements. Not gonna happend.
BioShock 2 Remastered: 46 of 53 (87%) achievements earned
Better version my ass. Tried to do these achievements 5 times before giving up due to them being bugged. 3-5 "?" patches since launch and they where still bugged. Worst part is they are the kind of achievements you should get normal pretty much.
APB Reloaded: 43 of 60 (72%) achievements earned
After all these years i'm working on maxing a character on the other faction so i will soon be done with the last missing ones!.. Except.
Deck the Halls 2015
Earned by gaining score in the 12 Deaths of Christmas Event. - Unlocks the 'Elf Hat and Ears' for purchase on completion.
Ho Ho Ho, Now I Have a... 2015
Grab weapons from Secret Santa Gift Boxes and kill others in order to earn this achievement. - Unlocks the Raptor 'Hawk' Assault Rifle for purchase when completed.
Deck the Halls 2014
Earned by gaining score in the 12 Deaths of Christmas Event in 2014. - Unlocks the FAR 'Vanguard' for purchase on completion.
Ho Ho Ho, Now I Have a... 2014
Grab weapons from Secret Santa Gift Boxes and kill others in order to earn this achievement. - Unlocks the FAR 'Charger' Assault Rifle for purchase when completed.
Yay for achievements that are based on specific years... >:|
Edit: Also 0% of the users have them? Sounds even better..
