I think you have to have the account eligible to place things in the marketplace to get the fast drops, i.e you had to spend money in steam on the account (like the new $5 requirement to unlock functions like trade that before you only had to gift the account a game to do so). EDIT: someone confirmed this is not the case so back to the drawing board :)

I can confirm it :> even better - seems like they edited "cannot idle multiple games at the same time" rule - I ran idle master today - and since beggining all 3 games I have left to idle dropped cards. 2 of them even pretty fast, slow drop was Divinity Original Sin Enhanced Edition - but it seems that the game itself has low speed of dropping - as with 2 games finished it still dropped onl 2nd card after 3h ;p

I'm not experiencing this. I redeemed a key for Vintage Year today and played it for a little over an hour with no drops.

Well, if I can provide any info that might help, let me know.
The only thing I can think of is that I have requested a refund on a game that I played for more than two hours (and got cards for) but it was Journey of Light, which Steam offered to refund for anyone who purchased it.

Did not change for me. Was still taking over 2 hours for first card.

Have had one refund on this account and mine are still taking the usual two hours to start dropping.

Or maybe Steam realized it's more profitable to have card drops regardless if the user refunds the game? They get a cut from every transaction at the community market so it's in their best interest to have as many items in their "economy" as possible.

So yeah I got all drops from Hyperspace Pinball in under 50 minutes. But from what I see in that Reddit thread not every user can do that (get fast drops). So I'm guessing it depends on your account (how many refunds did you have, how long you've been on Steam and so on). Interesting and I'm glad I don't have to wait for 2 hours anymore to get cards to drop. Seems like not getting refunds finally paid off lol.

People report they get drops right away. Nobody is sure exactly what is happening and what current policy is - even games bought straight on Steam dropped cards before 2 hours.
Might be "if user never refunded, then allow card dropping right away" policy.
Or just a bug in system, where it deleted 2 hours requirement.
