On a scale from 'I’ll pass' to 'I’d marry it,' how do you feel about this bundle?
Can anyone confirm if Humble Choice Classic is still a thing? I have an old secondary account that I keep pausing month after month to not lost this benefit. I just want to cancel the membership to stop doing it.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well I never heard of any benefit - not even sure it's called choices since we all get all 8 games every month (well the ones who sub/buy of course) and the 20% shop discount for no pausing is only worth it if you buy from their store a fair bit
Comment has been collapsed.
Back at the beggining of Choice in 2019 you could actually choose the games if you were on the basic or premium plan, or get them all for $12 if you were on Classic plan (only subs from old Monthly could get it). Just gave a look at old threads and seems it's not a thing anymore.

i know I subbed to the version where they gave me 10 f the 12 I think but I just quit since I saw more and more months where - I either didn't want anything or what I did want was not worth what I paid (to me - I do know the cost/value on Steam was worth it but not my own value)

I don't know about right now, but it is something I have had multiple times in the past with humble.
It's best to leave it half hour or more before trying again as sometimes it will have actually gone through.
Have had multi purchase before because the site is so slow to update your purchases page.

Just to confirm, the guardians of the galaxy key is definitely ROW if you're not in those regions?

Hmm I'm somewhat disappointed. I've played the first game in coop with two friends and, yeah, it was great fun until we ran into a boss that just wouldn't die. I don't think they would want to give the second Remnant a chance aaaand I'm not sure if I want to try it on my own. Fingers crossed the reste of the bundle will be more to my liking.
Comment has been collapsed.
If I remember correctly, it was Ixillis. We did watch some gameplay vids for tips, we tried over and over for a few hours... to no avail. It seemed kinda bugged. If CallMeKap ever sees this post, he'll attest we tried everything. That guy is the most chill, patient human being I know and even he was about to snap. XD
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh I remember her! The second most difficult boss in the entire game imho. The bridge didn't help either.
I did die countless times trying to get her, so I absolutely understand your frustration. While I cleared most bosses solo, she in particular I came back to with friends (different ones, different tries and we died a bunch as well lol) and after leveling up my weapons, addons and armor to a tanky-survivability build that I made up on the spot --the best the game had to offer up till that point in the story and open areas. If it makes you feel any better, I would easily play against any other boss again but not this one lol

The only problem I have with remnant 2 is the performance. It asks too much for what it gives. Besides that the game is super fun, the replay ability and character costumization is way better than the first one. There's so much you can do to create your builds.
Comment has been collapsed.
I never played the first one on the hardest dificulty, so I can't answer that. But I can say that you feel more powerfull in the second game for sure. Because of the double class system and the variety of rings/amulets in the game, you can make some broken builds that can make the game much more easier. I think remnant 2 feels more rewarding in its gameplay loop because you will end up leveling classes to max lvl just to get their main passive permanently without having the need to have their specific class equiped.
Comment has been collapsed.
I am also disappointed...
with 1 I found bosses to be complete BS solo because clearly designed around co-op with all the stuff going on)... or mechanical jokes(singe for example). Defense/damage wasn't an issue because of a mod I used to make it more playable solo.
Comment has been collapsed.
the very first sub boss I got... was complete bullshit for a first sub boss...
small indoor cramped area, fast melee dude who hits like a truck... and infinitely spawning exploding things that debuff you
would have been a brick wall for me so I had to go hunting for something to make it possible... I went with the relaxed mode mode which mostly gives you a massive defense buff... still barely beat it... on the 2nd try...
part of is definitely a skill issue... but there was no care in balancing the game for solo players either.

Souls-like which doesn't run on steamdeck. Not for me. Will be hoping for some great games along with this. Will have tiny hope that perhaps this turns out to be a wrong leak afterall or they change last minute.
Comment has been collapsed.
Since I highly dislike any game in the genre, even the few elements are enough for me not to play it.
Already seeing from your and NazaSekh comments that there are bosses that simply don't die tells me I wouldn't enjoy it... I want to enjoy story with some interesting combat, not spend 3 days crafting a strategy and grinding for resources to kill 1 out of 100 bosses. So even if you wouldn't call it a souls-like, if it takes 10 minutes shooting a boss in the face for it to die - I am passing it.
PS. for example, I really wanted to play Dark Souls with popularity it has. I was already sick I had to grind low level enemies who weren't even bosses.
Comment has been collapsed.
As yushi88 said, officially not.
But I guess its difficult to get 30fps on lowest settings. But I didn't check much in detail.
Comment has been collapsed.
Awesome!
I played Remnant with randoms online, and it was a pretty good experience. Bit on rails because somebody always knew what to do even if I didn't, but different things can be enjoyable. It had nice shooting, was enjoyable with a controller, the enemies and bosses are creepy, the setting/story interesting, and the gameplay was smooth this way. Obviously not perfect, but weirdly, I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected.
(A small thing about it: it's not dark souls with guns. It's a good third person NOT COVER shooter with some soulslike mechanics and feel : stamina (you need it, but regenerates quickly when not using it), slowish buff/item use, ability to stagger enemies, frequent use of the roll/dodge button; high damaging enemies, with a mix of ranged and melee.)

They are pulling a Callisto Protocol on us again, I can feel it in my bones.
Comment has been collapsed.
Too soon, maybe in one year when people foget about it.
Comment has been collapsed.
They included the base game for Callisto Protocol in Humble Choice. Upgrading to Deluxe is still more expensive than the actual Deluxe Edition. Yeah, some might argue Arc Games business model for Remnant II is a bit different, but they still punish you for buying DLCs separately from the Ultimate package.
Comment has been collapsed.
They punish you by giving you the base game for effectively a buck or two? That's a wild take, lol.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, having the game for so cheap is a great opportunity. I understand that idk, 3 + 20 usd is more than just the 20 for the complete version. From the completionist's standpoint who wants everything, before even playing the game. Or havijg played a demo, if it exists.
But at the same time, i had to realize that many games are pretty good for the asking price from HB, but wouldn't pay extra for the full version to begin with because it just isn't interesting enough/upgrade costs more than what it worths for me.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah. I find DLC is often not worth it, whereas the base game is fun. Or, buying the DLC is not worth it because the base game wasn't fun. Either way though, it seems like a stretch to suggest that someone is being punished for having the opportunity to play the base game at an insanely cheap price. Completionist or not.
Now, if the game simply isn't something a person is into, I can see why they wouldn't be excited to get it in a bundle.
Comment has been collapsed.
I agree with this when it comes to DLC.
DLC is only worth if it's in level of an expansion like Blood and Wine or Iceborne. Cosmetics, small campaign with new character and less interesting story, soundtrack and digital arts ain't that worthy especially if they demand more than 10 bucks for us to acquire, unless you buy them purely to support the dev (Which I did back then to This War of Mine).
Comment has been collapsed.
By punish you, I meant the publisher, look at the prices for base, DLCs and Complete Edition of Remnant II. Also the content of the DLCs is pretty thin for what they offer and at the same time content is included in the main campaign so I'd say in this particular case it makes sense to get the most complete version.
Comment has been collapsed.
Considering they just barely (this past week) released all the DLC, it doesn't really make sense for them at all. It does make sense for them to offer the base game at an amazing price, and if you like it, maybe you'll buy the DLC. Being upset that they're not just handing you everything for a buck isn't really sensible, lol.
Comment has been collapsed.
Nobody is forcing them to offer this particular title, there are plenty other complete games they could have chosen instead, that make sense in the Humble Choice context, both for the publishers and consumers,
Comment has been collapsed.
And?
Nobody is forcing them to give you the DLC for free either. Characterizing that as punishing you is just straight up false lol. You are more than capable of playing and enjoying the base game should you so choose. And you are also capable of buying the DLC separately if you want them. Acting like they're Aholes for offering you the base game for basically a buck really makes you look greedy AF. Which you are certainly free to lean into lol.
Comment has been collapsed.
You've completely misunderstood my initial post and then came up with your own and rather illogical conclusion that you keep pushing forward. And despite offering additional explanations, you get further and further away as more stuff is coming out of your head that I've never said or implied. And then you start pointing the finger at me, calling me names. Well, I guess this is the ending of our fruitful conversation.
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh, you were understood and my responses were perfectly on point. But since you've shifted to playing the victim, I accept your resignation from this discussion. Have a great one!
Comment has been collapsed.
That's your take out of this? You seem to lack the intelligence to understand 2 simple sentences, create your own narrative, keep repeating it like an idiot on autopilot, get worked out over your own narrative and act like I'm the one behind it. It's simply impossible to have a proper conversation with you.
Comment has been collapsed.
Sure sure. I remember you saying the conversation was over lol. What happened?
Don't be upset your narrative was dismantled. That was inevitable.
Comment has been collapsed.
Nobody is forcing them, but at the same time what, and why would stop them?
Many, many games survive on selling DLCs over the base game, and HB is notorious / its their modus operandi to sell base games cheap. I guess partially because this is what devs/publishers are willing to do for the share/pay for being featured in a bundle.
(Not so) smol edit for more thoughts:
You write from your angle, as if the bundle would be a BYOB or a wishlist, and in that context it's yeah, makes sense that you want full game A and not base game B. But it's not up to you, it's up for HB and the publisher.
The publisher gets 0 money if their game is not featured, and we don't know if they get more money for a full version.
HB wants value for the bundle, and willing to pay/share an amount of money for a game. They can exchange full A and base game B if their perceived value (through sales) are the same.
In short: HB features a game because they want to, and the game is there because the publisher wants it to be there. They both see a value in this deal - a different value that you may see, but this is why it's pointless to question corporate decisions as a single gamer. Your fun is hard to measure, their money is easier. They have market data, which may show that tens, or hundreds of thousands don't care about (story) DLC, so even if you want a full game, that extra is worthless in the HB-publisher deal, and actually could lead to loss of revenue from store sales, and lingering keys.
Comment has been collapsed.
I still remember Control "Ultimate Edition"... never forget :(
supposedly having the Standard Edition of the game and buying the DLCs for the game separately also gives you a different (and less optimized) depot than the real Control Ultimate Edition. It may be minor but still crazy.

Remnant II is good, I will rejoin after a few months.
I also hope for Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew. Desperados III was in Choice, so Shadow Gambit should be as well soon. Mimimi Games (the devs) are closed down, so this would give them some last money.

They sent something? I don't have any HB mail about monthly.
Comment has been collapsed.
i didn't like Remnant, here's hoping the leak for Remnant 2 is fake
Comment has been collapsed.
Is the emails humblebundle is sending to certain subscribers, it's not a leak or a rumor, it's from HB. Maybe they can turn back and drop remnant 2 on another choice but at 24h from the next one I doubt it.
EDIT: also, apparently last week a new DLC for remnant 2 came out so this may be a way to pushing DLC sales by the game devs and/or HB store managers.

If Remnant 2 is true it will be little disappointing for me. Already played it with my brother with Game Pass... Can't remember much about it, wasn't really compelling.
Comment has been collapsed.
I played the first Remnant solo, just the base game on Epic freebie. I loved it, great shooter. A year later Humble monthly included the complete edition, i was very happy to get the 2 DLCs and on Steam. I haven't played the DLCs yet, but looking forward to them. If this leak is true, then I would be very happy to add Remanant 2 to my collection. My only concern is that it has steep system requirements to run, but i will figure it out. I love these shooter type games even though i only play them solo which is a nice challenge.
