I'm not sure if this is really necessary, but since there's been a lot of discussion about the new blacklist feature...

I think it'd make sense to make blacklists bi-directional. That is, if you blacklist someone, it makes it so you can't see or enter their giveaways, either. (Obviously if you were aware of a giveaway you could 'cheat' by taking them off your blacklist for five seconds to enter it; but since you won't see their giveaways in the list, you generally won't know to do this.)

This would encourage people to use blacklists more reasonably, and perhaps reduce some of the drama associated with them. It also makes an intuitive sort of sense -- if you think that someone is a scammer, or a jerk, or a terrible person, why are you accepting gifts from them? If you feel strongly enough about someone to block them from entering your giveaways, I think it's fair that you should refrain from entering their giveaways.

+1

I agree completely. If you for some reason don't want me in your GA's, it's only fair that you shouldn't be able to enter mine.

Blacklisting is for the weak

Please make it bidirectional, since people who get on blacklists often do not know what is the reason.
Many times it's for no reason or whatever the blacklister sees fit as a bannable offense or whatever.
If I blacklist someone should be reason enough to be instantly blacklisted from their giveaways as well.

I don't think people doing massive blacklists enter random giveaways or care much about them. So it will be useless to do. Your hate can be understandable if you are a hateable (i don't know if this is a real word) person but i don't care who blacklists me. I just don't enter that giveaways why this should bother me at all? Why would i seek a reason behind it? It's not like people promise you something here. It's total randomness and that's what i like about steamgifts most.

It's about fair play / reciprocity.

Also it's annoying to find out you got blacklisted for no reason.
Apparently people who blacklist others actually care about blacklists. So blacklist one user for whatever random reason then they should get blacklisted as well from that user giveaways.

PS: if I find someone who blacklisted me, NO, I DON'T blacklist them. I'm just annoyed.

I don't understand the part that why would someone be annoyed to be blacklisted. Maybe if i work on a puzzle really hard on a wishlist game then find out that i am blacklisted (even that make me a little annoyed cause i like puzzles :P) but i can't see any other reason. Because you can enter 500 giveaways and can't win the same game here. That's more annoying than that in my opinion. Again in my opinion you should blacklist if you find someone who blacklists you because basicly that's what you are asking for here. There is no rules about blacklisting and you can use as free as anyone too. That's the whole point of that system i guess.

I won't bother blacklisting them.

You participate public giveaways, follow site rules, get blacklisted for no reason because of one user defines abohrrent needs, specific set of "rules", or they are just being a troll, or making misuse of blacklisting tool etc. It's annoying for me because it's not deserved. If it's not annoying for you, I wish I could feel like you.

Let the system work by itself. If it's free to blacklist someone then you're also blacklisting yourself from giveaways created by that someone. Let them be blacklisted instantly. It's their choice, not mine.

There is no misuse of blacklisting tool as far as i see it. :D But i understand you. Some sort of freedom is always good and there is always some people abusing it.

Actually if you tell someone who is blacklisted, i think it will cause much more drama. People might think that's not deserved for that reason and things will get pretty messy. :p That may be the reason why you can't see who blacklisted you too.
