I gave away deponia and my exp went from 1.03 to 1.15, deponia is £16, i gave away battle vs chess which is called check vs mate for some reason here, it is £14 and my level went to 1.95? Can someone explain this to me please? i haven't gifted either game previously.

Games that have been bundled before will receive 15% of the price value towards your level up.
Here's a good link for reference: http://www.steamgifts.com/bundle-games

All games which have been in a bundle (like humblebundle, indiegala, bundlestars, groupees, flying bundle, etc) get added to the bundle list.

Bundle in this context means that the game was sold in a bundle games for very cheaply on a site like Humble Bundle, Groupees, Indie Gala etc. Any game that is one of those only gives 15% of value forermore no matter where you bought it from or how much you paif for it.

Games that are on sale for greater than 95% off anywhere the world on the Steam store vs. USA base price of the game are also considered bundled and placed on the same list.

Well, in this case look at the good side: you found out about bundle sites :)

I had exact same problem when I first gave some games away, and wondered why a 5 dollar game that I did not buy in a bundle only gave me 75 cents value. I thought it was only if I actually bought it in a bundle that it counted as bundle game..nope.
Now I have a link on toolbar to the bundle list, so at least I know what to expect from it.

Sorry but i dont really understand, im pretty new to this, so if the game has a bundle sale i dont get full price for the game? deponia is worth £16 but on that link it says i only got $3 worth of exp, i dont get it 0o

Yes. Since the site has no way to know where you get your copy, once a game has been in a bundle or at least 95% off in a sale, it gets added to the bundle list (can sometimes happen in other situations as well, but rarely). You get full value of course, if the games gets bundled only after you gave it away (notice: not the same as "after it gets added to the bundle list", since the list can take some time to update).

you're thinking right.
read faq carefully about "bundle" thing and you will fully understand what happened and how calculate it.
important highlight (faq spoiler): attention when it says "retroactvely"

Read the FAQ here

You can check which games were bundled here

Also games (I think) that were on steam discount of 95% or higher will also give you less CV.
